An incredible round-up of the progress of the NHS Commitment to Carers team: SNOMED codes, hospital discharge guidance and encouragement of good practice, Young Carers Health Champion, tackling health inequalities, and more…. #NHSThinkCarer @CarersUK
And we’re off! @Helen_M_Walker opens the Commitment to Carers “It’s Not Rocket Science” conference, so vital that everyone focuses on the needs of unpaid carers #NHSThinkCarer

Agree. Great advice for all practices from Dr Sarah Jones. It only takes a couple of seconds to identify a carer on their record “it’s not hard to click a button”, having info to hand out is critical and social prescribers to help people further where needed. @TimAnfilogoff
Brilliant GP Dr Sarah Jones who works in deprived areas of Sheffield speaks about the challenges of identifying carers in primary care & how we can change our language to encourage people to identify as carers #NHSThinkCarer

The new SNOMED codes for identifying unpaid #carers through the #GP record have been released 👇 @NHSThinkCarer
To better identify unpaid carers, it can be helpful for the carer status to be recorded in their #GP record. Working with practitioners, we have produced guidance to support this to be done consistently: england.nhs.uk/publication/c… #NHSThinkCarer

Hearing from John from South Yorkshire who tells the #StateOfCaring @NHSThinkCarer session that #unpaidcarers are battle scared & tired of been seen as a cost & not a resource. Listen to the carers! @CampbellMcNeil1 shares the brilliant GP carers resource codesigned with carers

Important start to the breakout session on NHS Developments from carer John - carers are battle-scarred from fighting different statutory agencies, often viewed as a cost not a person, carers should be regarded as a resource not a problem #StateOfCaring #NHSThinkCarer

It was great to kick off our @bbcworldservice doc at #YCF2022 ❤️ – at London, England
Starstruck and messy-haired after a long day's recording: with @Oritse at the Young Carers Festival #ycf2022. A brilliant event for young people who shoulder adult responsibilities at a very tender age. Meet some of them in our @bbcworldservice doc later this year.
