What happened in Paraguay is EXACTLY WHY crypto. 👀🦋🍄
On November 3, Paraguay's Central Bank took control of Ueno Bank after finding out that its financial situation was much worse than what the legal limits allowed.
And Ueno wasn't a petite bank. It had almost 3 million customers in a country with just 6.5 million people...Yes!
It also managed around $850 million in public money, including funds from state pensions and healthcare.
Overnight, millions of people couldn't access their money, make transfers, or even use their bank cards.
Pensioners couldn't access their savings. Businesses struggled to make payments. Families had no idea when they would get their money back.
And the problem went beyond the bank itself. Questions about risky loans to people connected to the bank, political relationships, and failures in financial supervision quickly turned this into a major political scandal!
Now, after the scandal, President Peña has even been removed from office by Congress and placed under house arrest while facing a criminal investigation.
The people who were supposed to protect the financial system were also linked to the whole scam.
And as always, ordinary people are the ones paying the price.
This is what happens when transparency and accountability are missing.
And somehow, we're still told that trusting centralized financial institutions is the safest option?
Crypto isn't here because the traditional financial system never fails. It's here because it does. And we deserve a better alternative.

Never Forget that BAFFLING MOMENT IN April 2024, Congress had an opportunity to strengthen Americans’ privacy protections by requiring warrants for certain searches of their communications collected through federal surveillance. The amendment failed in a 212 to 212 tie. Jeffries voted AGAINST it. Had he voted yes it would have passed.
Think about that. The Democratic leader had an opportunity to protect a fundamental civil liberty and chose otherwise. 🤷♀️
So before the media starts celebrating the historic possibility of our first Black House Speaker, I’d like to know exactly what kind of leadership we’re celebrating?

Your AI can generate a thousand answers in seconds. But can it write ONE that stands up to scrutiny?
That’s what caught my attention about Proof of Agent — PoA.
I’ve been testing it with my agent, and the interesting part isn’t watching a token counter go up. It’s the question underneath: how do you reward useful agent work without rewarding an army of copies?
Here’s how the experiment works.
Roughly every six hours, a new epoch challenge opens. Your agent writes a short, original answer proposing a concrete way to resist fake identities and agent farming. It has to incorporate required words naturally, but that alone isn’t enough.
A good answer explains the mechanism. What does it check? What would an attacker need to fake? What would that cost? Where could the defense still fail?
“Use reputation” isn’t much of an answer. Explaining how reputation is earned, what prevents cheap resets, and how honest newcomers get through is much more interesting.
Eligible jurors score answers from 0 to 3. Coherent but empty writing scores below an actual mechanism. Strong, concrete reasoning scores higher. Duplicates are rejected, and grading has consequences too: the documented rules include spot-checks and penalties for bad grading.
So participation involves more than submitting text: answer challenges, mine and attest, then review assigned work when eligible.
What I want to see is whether this produces better reasoning over time. Can agents identify weaknesses in each other’s proposals? Can useful contributions stand out without turning everything into a spam contest?
That’s worth testing — but honestly.
PoA is experimental. I’ve encountered API outages and empty jury assignments. Rewards can be locked. A large POA balance is not the same as cash, and there’s no guaranteed income, token price or liquidity. Don’t confuse an interesting protocol experiment with a guaranteed investment.

BREAKING: HOLY SMOKES! Democrats now control enough states to effectively abolish the Electoral College through the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact.
Republicans did NOT have this on their bingo cards...
Under the Constitution, states control their electoral votes and are allowed to decide how they are allocated during presidential elections. Currently, almost every state gives its votes to whoever wins the state.
In practice, the current system means that a candidate can win the national popular vote, but lose the election because small states like Wyoming exert undue influence on the outcome. That state has 3 electoral votes with a population of just 577,000 people. California has 54 electoral votes and a population of 39.5 million people. So a vote in Wyoming is essentially 3.8 times as valuable as one in California.
Since 1992, Democrats have won the popular vote seven out of nine times.
Under the NPV, states that join agree to give their electoral votes to whoever wins the national popular vote, not just their own state. So a state could go red on the map, but if the Democrat wins the national vote, they still get that state's votes. And vice versa of course.
The crucial mechanism is that the compact doesn't trigger until the member states have a combined power of at least 270 electoral votes, the number needed to win the White House. So far, 18 states plus D.C. have joined, totaling 222 electoral votes. We only need 48 more.
Now is the chance to pass this measure in every state possible. Democrats won both houses of the legislature in Wisconsin for the first time in 18 years (10 electoral votes). We won the Pennsylvania state Senate for the first time since 1993 (19 votes). We now have a trifecta in Michigan (15 votes). And we won the governor’s race in Nevada (6 votes).
10 + 19 + 15 + 6 = 50.
222 + 50 = 272.
And if we hold our lead in the Arizona Senate, that number could climb as high as 283, more than enough to trigger the compact.
In addition to removing an imbalance in our system that favors Republicans, this novel approach would fundamentally change how candidates run their presidential campaigns. Currently, they are incentivized to ignore most of the country. If you live in a “safe” state, red or blue, your vote for President is basically decided before you cast it. Campaigns spend their time and money in a handful of swing states while the rest of us watch from the sidelines. If the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact is adopted, they'll have reason to hit every state because they're aiming to win the largest swath of the country as a whole, not just certain states.
States have until July 20, 2028 to join the compact in time for the next presidential election.
We can fix our democracy. The time is now.
