NEXT UP: BARCELONA vs ALAVÉS. 🔵🔴
After the PSG and Real Madrid defeats, we need three points and a convincing performance.
Forget the excuses. Show the mentality.

After 2 consecutive losses, a lot of Barcelona fans have lost confidence in the team, but it's understandable. Regardless, we will have to support them.
What are you predictions.
Mine is 4-0.

🔵🔴 Barça have won 4 of their last 5 games against Alavés! 💪
Can they make it 5 wins in 6? 👀💙❤️

🚨Is Lisandro Martinez the Defender Barcelona need , or simply the defender they can afford? 👀🔵🔴
I understand why Barcelona are interested in Martínez.
He’s left-footed, aggressive, technically gifted and comfortable playing out from the back. His profile fits several demands of Hansi Flick’s football.
But fitting the system isn’t the same as solving the problem.
Barcelona need a centre-back who can stand up to Europe’s biggest attackers, defend aerial threats, protect the space behind a high line and remain available throughout the season.
Martínez has qualities, but his height and injury record raise legitimate questions.
So I don’t want us to confuse a potentially attractive transfer opportunity with the right defensive signing.
Are Barcelona identifying the defender who will make this defence stronger, or simply the one who fits their financial situation?
Because those are two very different transfer strategies. 🔵🔴

WILL BEATING ALAVÉS CHANGE THE NARRATIVE AROUND BARCELONA? 👀
The mental shift among Culers has been crazy.
We went from “If we don’t score five, give the opponents three points” to “Scoring five against smaller teams is just what we’re good at.”
It’s not because we’ve stopped loving this club. Those defeats have changed how we see this team.
At the start of the season, many of us genuinely believed this could be our year in Europe. We were beating everyone until the biggest tests came, and we fell short.
Now, even if we score five against Alavés, will it convince us that we can beat Europe’s elite? Or will people see it as another comfortable win against a team we’re expected to beat?
That’s the problem Barça need to address. We have to show that we can deliver against the very best, not just dominate the teams we’re expected to beat.
Or is this where Barça begin correcting the problems those defeats exposed?
Culers, what’s your take? 🔵🔴

🚨 BASTONI, SCHLOTTERBECK OR VAN DE VEN: WHO SHOULD BARCELONA SIGN? 👀🔵🔴
Barcelona don’t just need another centre-back. We need a defender who can survive the demands of Hansi Flick’s system.
I’ve looked at three interesting profiles, and each offers something different.
1. Alessandro Bastoni
For me, he’s the most complete option. He’s comfortable on the ball, excellent at progressing possession, can break defensive lines with his passing and has the composure to help Barcelona control games.
His experience and positional intelligence are also major advantages.
2. Nico Schlotterbeck
A more aggressive profile. He’s strong in duels, excellent at stepping out to win possession and has the passing range to launch attacks from deep.
However, his aggressive defending can leave spaces behind him, and some of his riskier passes can be costly when possession is lost.
3. Micky van de Ven
If recovery speed is the priority, he’s the standout. His pace is exceptional, and he has the physical ability to cover huge spaces behind a high defensive line.
But speed alone doesn’t make a complete defender. His positional discipline, consistency and injury record are also important considerations.
My verdict?
Bastoni is my first choice because he offers the best overall balance of defensive experience, composure and quality in possession.
Schlotterbeck is an excellent alternative, while Van de Ven offers something Barcelona could desperately use: recovery speed when the high line is exposed.
But here’s what I think matters most:
Barcelona don’t just need a centre-back who can defend. We need one who can defend the consequences of Flick’s football.
So, Culers, who would you sign?
Bastoni, Schlotterbeck or Van de Ven? 🔵🔴

🚨 BARÇA’S DEFENSIVE CRISIS IS BECOMING IMPOSSIBLE TO IGNORE. 🔵🔴
Xavi Espart is out for around seven weeks. With Koundé, Eric García and Christensen also dealing with injuries, how are we supposed to approach the coming games with so few defensive options?
Flick’s high line demands defenders who can handle huge spaces. But injuries are exposing just how vulnerable we can become when those options disappear.
Do we keep trusting La Masia to fill the gaps, or has this crisis made one thing clear?
Barcelona MUST prioritise a proper defensive signing in January.
And if our finances make that difficult, what is the actual plan?
CULERS, WHAT WOULD YOU DO? 👀

Raphinha needs to learn from this.
Last season, international duty disrupted his rhythm, and now it’s happening again. Every time he gets back to his best, another injury sets him back.
He’s only just finding his form again, and we could be heading into the same cycle.
Playing for Brazil is an honour, but Barça are the ones who suffer when he comes back injured.
At some point, he has to learn how to manage himself better. We can’t keep watching the same story repeat itself. 🔵🔴

Are we scared to admit that Pedri hasn’t been good enough lately? 👀
I know how good Pedri is, but lately, he hasn’t been controlling games the way we’re used to seeing him do. His influence has dropped, and we’re not seeing that same authority and creativity consistently.
His loss of a starting place with Spain is a consequence of that dip in form, not the main issue.
The problem is that we judge Pedri by the player we know he can be, instead of what he’s actually producing right now.
So let me ask: Is this the best version of Pedri, or are we giving him too much credit because of his reputation? 🔵🔴
