It’s been a long, dark night. But today I hear in a new way the echoes of Scripture. Weeping endures for the night, but joy comes in the morning.

Tonight, I make a solemn promise to every single Texan. Whether you voted for me or Governor Abbott, or felt so betrayed by a broken politics that you did not vote at all.
Hear what Texas said today, loud and clear: Your government belongs to you. And as your governor, I will never forget it. There will be no special set of rules for the wealthy and powerful. No looking the other way when someone in my own party does wrong.
The trust you have placed in me tonight is not a blank check. It is a sacred responsibility. And I intend to earn it every single day.

Absolute agree with @neeratanden! Too much is at stake!
I have always been a fan of @JasmineForUS but I have been part of hard fought primaries on campaigns that have lost. Help the winner, particularly if you think Democracy is at stake. Beating Paxton is more important than any of our feelings.
Can’t wait to read it. History will treat you well, Mr. President!
I’ve written a book about my time as President. It’s called PROMISE ME, AMERICA. It’s coming out November 17th and is available for preorder now.

Here’s the close of Jesse’s 1988 DNC speech “keep hope alive.” The challenge for politicians on the left remains unsparing critique that doesn’t descend into cynicism. There’s a reason that churched, black political figures navigate this more seamlessly than others
Honored to serve on @SolomonForJC's Public Safety Policy Committee.

A great pick for the State’s next Comptroller!
I am pleased to announce my nomination of Shirley Emehelu to be New Jersey’s next Comptroller. Shirley brings a wealth of experience to the role, from her time at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of New Jersey and the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General. Shirley will be a key partner in delivering on my goal of bringing transparency and accountability to Trenton.
I know Shirley well from our time together at the US Attorney's office and I know she will bring a focus on public service, integrity, and fairness to the Comptroller’s office to ensure that government is working for you.
Welcome, Shirley!
Congratulations to Jersey City’s new mayor @SolomonforJC !! Excited for his vision for this great city!
Honored to be a member of Governor-Elect @MikieSherrill Interdisciplinary Advisory TaskForce to help shape meaningful and impactful policy. newjerseyglobe.com/governor/…

NJ's Acting Comptroller comes out against a proposal from Senate Dems he says would weaken @MikieSherrill's ability to "investigate corruption and protect tax dollars."
Sherrill has not yet commented on the proposal.
Thanks for your strong stance here, @SenatorAndyKim ! The Comptroller and Attorney General are essential in eradicating corruption in our state.
It would be flat wrong to have the incredible election turnout of New Jersey voters standing against Trump’s lawlessness and then immediately take steps in our state to reduce accountability and transparency.
I strongly oppose any efforts to weaken the Comptroller and Attorney General positions along with other watchdog institutions that are standing against corruption and conflicts of interest that raises our costs and hurt our families and communities.
This is infuriating. Keeping food from seniors and kids is not leadership.
President Trump is appealing an order to feed hungry Americans. He would rather fight with the courts than help Americans who can't afford food.
It’s absolutely unconscionable.
