It is super bizarre that such a seemingly simple muscle group can be a struggle for most of the gym people. As easy as it is to load the biceps, I think it’s just as easy to take the tension off it, and to have other muscle groups and joints contribute to the movement of the weight on the concentric and eccentric. Common failures (and there are many others) 1. They go too heavy 2. They use momentum 3. The arc of the weight is suboptimal, and they cheat by shortening the arc, rather than elongating it 4. Shoulder flexion on concentric takes early tension off the bicep/initiates the movement 5. Shoulder extension shortens the movement on the eccentric and the weight moves without the bicep lengthening, reducing tension and load on the bicep People should try to go super light and figure out how to make it difficult. Just to find what works, and what is cheating them out of gains. Another funny thing is that shoulder flexion can also increase the load on your bicep by putting it in a mechanically disadvantaged position, but where/when it happens in the movement matters greatly.
Biceps is the easiest muscle to train. At least, it should be in theory. Small muscle, two basic functions: -Elbow flexion -Forearm supination You can see it, you can feel it while you train. Many exercises to bend your elbow under resistance. It’s not rocket science. I understand people struggling with back, legs, even chest or shoulders, when it comes to correct form and intensity. But to screw up biceps training when you’ve been going to the gym for a while is a special talent.

Reverse grip curl using a strap. Stole this one from @DJBuildIt. It’s an excellent movement. I feel dumb for not thinking to try it myself!

I flipped this picture horizontally because I’m always looking ahead, never behind. So this is my left arm, not my right. And I’m looking forward to the bulk that will be commencing shortly. Taking a few extra days off to get my body ready to PUSH. I’m also looking into hiring a talent agent for my arms. So if you know anyone who specializes in managing arm-related modeling talent, send them my way.

Bulletproof advice. Also, have you tried complimenting random strangers lately? It feels good to receive compliments, but it’ll lift your mood even more to make someone else smile. It’s so easy to be in a good mood. Whether that’s a burrito and an energy drink or making someone else’s day. You just gotta choose it.
"Im depwessed!! 😢" Skill issue. Have you ever tried having a big fat breakfast burrito for dinner while watching Game of Thrones? Maybe chase it down with an evening energy drink?

We all know that hydration is an important part of exercise performance, so here’s a super tightly guarded secret about how to hydrate and replenish your sodium when you’re in a pinch. With a shout out to The Beast, T Dog @ironnfox

Hell yeah. It was a ton of fun working out together and getting some good stuff on film. The first of many.
T-Bar Linear Row makes for an excellent upper back movement. Key note here is the strong concentric (the pull) and the controlled eccentric (the release) into a full stretch.

Grilled Chicken is the best chicken. If you aren’t grilling it, you’re goofing. There’s only a few things you MUST do here so anyone can do it. 1. Dry brine it. Salt it 12-18 hours before you’re going to cook it. This will make it so much more moist, tender, and tastier. 2. Season it however you like. I do garlic, and Greek Freak seasoning. That’s it. You can do it during the dry brine salting, or after. It won’t get into the meat like salt will so it’s not a big deal to wait. I do it all at once though during the dry brining so that it’s quicker and easier. 3. DO NOT cook it until 165 degrees internal as the FDA says. That’s way too hot. It’ll turn to shit. You can safely cook it to 150 and keep it at that temperature either at the top rack of the grill with super low heat, or with aluminum foil on a plate. The chicken will likely rise a little internally even after you remove it, so stopping at ~150 and tenting it with aluminum foil for 5 minutes or so is my go to move. Safety guidelines: @ 145 degrees, 8-9 minutes @ 148 degrees, 5.5-6 minutes @ 150 degrees, 3.5 -4 minutes @ 155 degrees, 1.2 minutes

Getting my first dose of anon jealousy hate online on a post related to machines and gym clothing, haha. When I was natty, I never held any resentment towards those who chose to be on gear. Being miserable and envious is a terrible existence. I hope these people start to direct their energy towards improving themselves, and being fulfilled and content.

I am officially one week into stomach vacuums and it feels like it’s working already. My fiancĆ©e has commented that my waist is even tighter than before, and my weight has been holding steady around 188, so it isn’t weight loss. And overall I feel more connected there, and it’s tighter to the touch. It’s only one week, but it’s been promising so far and it’s also super easy to do every day. Low effort, big reward. @GaintrustMikey

In which a literature based ā€œlifterā€ proclaims that the real problem gymbros face is that they’re not using ENOUGH weight and that they care TOO MUCH about form šŸ˜‚ This message is applicable to less than .1% of the gym community and that’s being Anyone connected to bodybuilding, fitness, or personal training, or anyone who spends ANY time in a gym knows that the real problem is EGO LIFTING with too much weight and not caring enough about form. All the real Broscientists (a term of endearment around these parts) know that having amazing form is an intrinsically desirable skill that is hard to master, and that the ability to make light weight heavy and then progress in weight is The Wayā„¢ļø For a good laugh go see how he resorted to pedantry and semantic nitpicking when I correctly challenged his original (false) contention, then started crying to Grok to back him up, and lastly resorted to ad hominem attacks, condescension, and repeated calls for ā€œtaking the Lā€ after I called him out for acting like a child. I think he’s a little jealous that I have successfully applied the principles of hypertrophy to a level he would never sniff in 50 lifetimes. This is what happens to most people when they attain a large audience. Their egos become increasingly fragile, they start to like the smell of their own farts, and they can’t admit when a point they made doesn’t hold up to even the slightest bit of scrutiny.
Your muscles don't care how pretty your reps look. They care how hard they're working. Obsessing over perfect form at the expense of sufficiently challenging weight will cost you progress.

FWIW, I didn’t have even a little bit of a bad impression of Max prior to this, and I especially didn’t expect him to turn into a sniveling baby because of my mostly innocuous reply. Imagine I had called him a retard in my OP. Then I could understand the responses he made, as I had made it personal and was not replying in good faith. That was not the case. He was the one who was arguing in bad faith and made it personal. I gave him the benefit of the doubt after his first response, and replied in good faith again, but he no longer deserved it after his second reply.
