KRS gave me the ultimate shoutout on that album because I got him to record his verse on Pass The Mic… “your DJs aight, but JS-1 is much stronger!” And he was correct. 🎧🎤📈💎Great album. Lil Young is all-time top tier concept song.

We were performing at Montreux Jazz Fest in 2002. Walked in hotel lobby n saw luggage w Slayer logos coming in. I stalked that lobby all day til i got to tell them how great they are, like they didnt know already. Lol. Rick was probably home, barefoot. 🤘🏼💀🤘🏼

Yup. I was one of the writers in the case. He lost because Judge Block told him specifically about the Vara act and that he could demo the building but just don’t touch the artwork for 60-90 days, and 3 nights later he went directly against the judge n had it painted over.

I had a separate set of 1200s set up at my wedding just so i could cut up doubles of Ease Back in my tux mid-reception. 🤣🎧🎤📈 true story… 💎 Then I surprised my wife with a Judy Torres performance. Rahzel on the mic as well. 🕺🏼

I spent the last day doing math on flights/trains, hotel n tickets to cleveland, charlotte, detroit, n atlanta just to take my son to a Knicks game this year. 🤷🏻‍♂️Now i need to do math on the Gotham app, Prime video, n Peacock/Hulu so we can watch on tv too. 😵‍💫🤷🏻‍♂️🤌🏼

The travesty in this is that it proves how in the last 15 years it’s “do something bad or stupid and get rewarded.” No docs on Netflix about the best bboys/girls. Soc media era is, do the worst shit ever, n you win the algorithm contest everyone is in. Bizarro world…

New Can Control book via Beyond The Streets. I got a few pieces in here from early 90s. Respect to Power & our Cali graff friends for showing NY writers love. Before your fav youtube/ig DJs n street artists existed, we were doing the work.

A few years ago doing some graff for Common & Dj Premier. Although the “elements” of hip hop have broken off into subcultures that don’t always interact anymore, I still find my happiness & fun where the elements are together like the 80s. Thankful for these opportunities 🎧🎤📈

There’s a few, one that did write a lil bit but needs a ton of help n posts the final product not the others helping him do it. Lol. Average fans n podcasters will heap praise n go crazy while ignoring those who truly put in work with no gimmicks.

When the man who invented scratching uses your record in his sets and cuts up your scratching… So thankful and my mind is always blown away by this. Respect the architect n nicest human being, Grand Wizard Theodore. 🙌🏼🫡

Funk flow yesterday in Queens, NYC. So u all know some rappers have ghost-writers, but did u know a rapper can also have a graffiti ghost-writer to fake it in old videos n on IG. People move real funny to influence perception vs reality…

Read it all! Fantastic article. A lot to take in. Wu-Tang as modern bards is spot-on, and I especially appreciated the Iliad, McLuhan, and Beatles references. I learned things i did not realize. This should be included in college courses! I hope the Clan gets to see this. 🙌🏼
