Net Zero caused high bills
The man is a chronic liar.
I want to be honest about how we’ve got to a place where British billpayers are paying some of the highest energy costs in Europe.
Over the past 40 years, we’ve given up control of our necessities, outsourced our essentials and privatised the basics. Water, transport, housing. And of course, energy.
Now the public are paying the price. We haven’t invested in the infrastructure we need. Conflict overseas has pushed up energy costs and it’s hurting our businesses and families.
That’s why we need to take back greater control of our energy system.
This week, I announced Great British Grid, which will speed up connections and push down bills.
We’re also giving mayors, local leaders and communities a stronger role. With funding for People’s Power projects, communities will be able to build solar panels on libraries and town halls, hydro schemes in rivers or publicly owned windfarms on local land.
But it’s not just energy we need stronger public control over. It’s also water, housing, transport and care.
So we’re repealing the ban on public ownership of water companies. We’re building more council homes than this country has seen since the end of World War Two.
We’re reforming the leasehold system so families aren’t squeezed for every penny. And we’re opening up home ownership for first time buyers who can’t rely on the bank of mum and dad.
This week I also announced my determination to introduce a National Care Service, to put people above profit and to give pensioners peace of mind.
Together, we’ll rewire the country from top to bottom so that it works for all people in all places.
That is the only way to put Britain back on the right path. It’s the only way to put power back in people’s hands. And it’s the only way we will bring hope again.

The ANDREW NEIL Report. Burnham’s Speech was a tour de force. He also stands for everything that is synonymous with British decline

Heathrow is one of Britain’s most important strategic assets. To expand it, in the final resort, is not a decision for London. It is a decision for the national government.

It was your own SNP leaders that repeatedly described it as such, including then First Minister Alex Salmond and his deputy Nicola Sturgeon.
Salmond used the phrase in his foreword to the Scottish Government’s official independence white paper, Scotland’s Future (November 2013): a “rare and precious moment… a once in a generation opportunity to chart a better way.”
The document itself stated that “it is the view of the current Scottish Government that a referendum is a once-in-a-generation opportunity.”
Sturgeon said the same on several occasions.
Andy Burnham being interviewed by @STVcolin says Scotland’s 2014 referendum was “once in a generation”
Perhaps he could produce the legal document, signed by all parties, to substantiate this claim !

The cost of borrowing goes up every time @andyburnham says he won't cut the welfare budget!
Every time he opens his mouth he costs the hard working people of the UK more money!
We're on a fast track to bankruptcy a la Greece 2009!
Slow handclap for Ashton-in-Makerfield! 👏🤬

So apparently John Healey may be forced into an emergency budget because the cost of borrowing has gone up to it’s highest in decades.
The UK public should not have to pay a single penny extra until this government stops giving our money away in “foreign aid” to France & also paying for illegal migrants.
Also they want to give away the Chagos Islands then rent them back.
We are being scammed big-time.

Considering the Wm state has cost families thousands through austerity and economic policies imposed on Scotland, why dismiss the £3,000 figure? The point is that an independent Scotland could pursue different economic policies instead of being locked into Wm’s failed model.

Whether you're a business owner employing staff, a parent paying school fees, a farmer planning succession, an entrepreneur building wealth or simply someone trying to save for retirement...
You keep less of what you earn.
You keep less of what you invest.
You leave less to your family.
Death by a thousand cuts is becoming tax policy.

It's baffling that people are moaning about the heat
We are a matter of weeks away from 6-8 months of constant rain, being ridiculously cold. Snow, sleet and everything in-between
Get yourself a Cornetto
Have a cold shower
And embrace it
We don't have summers like this

The Norwegian wealth fund owns under 3% of BP. So hardly a ‘significant chunk’. But BP pays and collects over £3 billion in British tax. It pays almost no Norwegian tax.
Is it now the default position of Scottish Nationalists to lie about everything?

1. Transfer the tens of billions earmarked for net zero to defence and supply chain resilience, to create a major industrial/defence sector, thereby creating skilled jobs in UK, rather than China (as net zero does)
2. Radical tough love welfare reform to get 1m people of working age into work, thereby cutting the welfare bill and increasing the tax base. Coupled with massive expansion of German-class STEM skill apprenticeships.
3. Radical reform of planning laws to stop nimbys/greens from thwarting every major infrastructure development. Put judges/courts in their place when it comes to such matters.
4. Put rocket boosters under high-speed rail link between Leeds-Manchester-Liverpool. Brook no opposition/delay.
5. Unleash North Sea oil/gas + slash energy bills by removing all green levies. New breed of gas-fired and smaller nuke generating stations.
Much more to suggest. But this should be good for starters.

It was the middle of the night, at about 1.30am, when Norway lost to England.
Yet thousands of Norwegians went to the Palace in Oslo and celebrated with one final Viking row.
They did not riot. They did not burn cars. They did not smash bus stops or glass windows of shops.
They smiled. The laughed. They saw the positive in their performance. They celebrated their heritage. They were proud of who they have been in the past and who they are today.
Norway might be out of the World Cup 2026 but they are in our hearts.
In the last three weeks, I think we have all fallen a little bit in love with Norwegians.

The left are by far the worst humans.
They scream for equality and rights yet afford none to those with opposing views and even go as far as to attack them.
A lefty world is a dangerous one.

Andy Burnham is now taking a few questions, albeit in highly controlled circumstances. He’s coming across as a bit Forrest Gump: well-meaning, naïve, uninformed.
So let’s get real. Here’s a proper question about a huge issue.
There are almost 11m people of working age in the UK who are economically inactive.
Yet Skills England reports that construction is short of 1m workers to meet the current infrastructure and housing targets — and that’s before you include Mr Burnham’s plans for a massive council house building programme.
It’s a clear sign of a labour market — skills shortage AND huge inactive labour pool — not functioning properly.
It needs to be put right before we have any chance of decent growth.
So, Mr Burnham, what would you do to put it right?

Well, if there is more money for defence, which I hope there is, why didn’t they release it to John Healey?
BREAKING: New Defence Secretary @DanJarvisMBE signals that he is seeking additional money for the Defence Investment Plan.
Asked whether he is trying to get more funding, the defence secretary said he is working very closely with the chancellor and the prime minister and that he has had “very good and constructive meetings”.
Mr Jarvis told an annual Land Warfare Conference: “I am determined to secure the best possible deal that I can and I am determined to do that sooner rather than later”

Once again Rachel Reeves and Labour continue to prove their total fiscal ineptitude.
May's borrowing came to a staggering £23.3 BILLION which was well above forecasts of £18.9 billion.
Reeves has so far borrowed £46.3 billion this year. How will this ever be repaid?🤔🤔🤔

Retarded. Debt was increased because Labour left office with government borrowing commitments 33% higher than income. Looks like their about to do the same again for the third time in my life
