BOOK: NIGERIA A COUNTRY WITHOUT CITIZENS.. I thought I understood Nigeria’s problem until I read Nigeria: A Country Without Citizens. It reframes everything. Achebe said the trouble with Nigeria is leadership. Dr Aneke calls that a misdiagnosis. The real disease, he argues, is entrenched ethnicity. Get a copy in Amazon. amazon.co.uk/Nigeria-Entrenc…

A Mexican federal judge has been arrested on a nine-count federal indictment charging him with accepting a $2 million bribe to free a Canadian drug trafficker who was the second-in-command to former Olympic snowboarder Ryan Wedding—who is in federal custody on charges of leading a transnational cocaine trafficking operation, as well as murder and attempted murder. Crooked public officials, no matter where they are, who assist drug traffickers operating here at home will face justice in the U.S. Great work by the @HSTaskForce, @USAO_LosAngeles, and our law enforcement partners!

There is a superior decadence that enables the decadence of Peter Lifu. It is called John Tsoho. He is the Chief Judge of the @FederalHigh. He knows what he is doing. These men are now so compromised, they know that they will stand no chance under a different dispensation. So, they no longer need to be bribed. Their corrupt judgments have become desperate acts of personal & political survival. They are no longer judges. They are now members of an organised political crime gang.
Lifu strikes again. We are dealing with the most decadent hegemony - The Tinubu Hegemony - our country has known. Confronting the hegemony through the ballot is useless

Do not Undermine Democracy I have received with shock the news of an order by the Federal High Court in Abuja nullifying the emergence of the Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and all the actions he has taken. This is unsettling and surprising. I do not challenge the ruling of the court. The court of law is constituted to determine disputes according to the law. My concern is that three months before a general election, it is in the public interest to have certainty. It is not good to have too many uncertainties about candidates and parties a few weeks before a presidential election. This instability is obviously engineered by the ruling party, just as they have done against me in the Labour Party and continue to do so to close down civic space for a robust campaign. It is also from the same rulebook that manufactures violence against us in our campaigns. One mark of democracy is that at all times, it is voters and not courts that choose leaders. I trust in the judiciary. As a public officer, I have shown deep respect for the judiciary. I appeal that we protect the integrity of democracy by not undermining the free and fair choice of candidates. The sustenance of democracy in Nigeria, in the midst of encroaching military rule in West Africa, should strengthen our resolve to protect opposition politics and not stamp out opposition parties. It is because of the importance of opposition to the sustenance of democracy that I have always promised that, as President, I will take a special interest in ensuring opposition parties are stable and thriving, and that opposition candidates are not persecuted out of electoral contests. This is a time to strengthen our democracy by allowing the opposition to thrive. A new Nigeria is POssible. -PO

PRESS RELEASE APC'S DESPERATE ATTEMPT TO CONSTRICT DEMOCRATIC SPACE AND MUZZLE OPPOSITION MUST STOP - NDC The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) is sad to note that the desperate attempt to constrict the democratic space and muzzle the opposition is on the increase. The NDC has not just been a target of violent attacks by agents of the ruling and ruinous APC, it has become a soft target of discrimination by hoteliers and the hospitality industry in Abuja. On two occasions, Rockview Hotel in Abuja after agreeing to the use of their facilities for our meetings without genuine excuse cancelled the grant in the last minute of negotiation. The first time it happened was when at the last minute they rejected our request to hold our 2nd NEC meeting in June, 2026. Only recently, they refused our utilization of their facilities for a meeting saying it was order from above. Similarly, the BON Hotel, Wuse, Abuja bluntly refused our usage of their facilities for a meeting despite meeting all conditions placed on our path. Also, the recent unveiling of our National Campaign Council (NCC) did not happen without drama from the hospitality industry in Abuja. At the last minute, our host called the party to refund the payment made, saying they were no longer interested in making their facilities available, perhaps based on threats and orders from above. However, our refusal to bulge inevitably compelled them to allow us the usage of the facility we have paid for. This is not democracy. The APC should allow all parties to campaign without let or hindrance, and give Nigerians the opportunity to make their choice on who governs them. In addition, we implore all well meaning Nigerians and lovers of democracy to call out Rockview and BON Hotel for their anti-people and anti-democratic actions. Nigerians deserve better, and NDC is prepared to serve with passion and patriotism. A New Nigeria is POssible! We can do it. EFCC Uncovers Chinese-Operated Illegal Oil Refinery in Ogun The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has uncovered an illegal oil refinery operated by Chinese in the Ogere area of Ogun State. The operation, conducted on Saturday, October 31, 2026, by operatives of the Lagos Zonal Directorate 2 of the EFCC, followed credible intelligence and surveillance by the Commission on the activities of the illegal sludge oil refiners. The refinery was found deserted when EFCC operatives stormed the premises, following the Commission's earlier clampdown on four illegal lithium processing plants in the area. However, waste products from the refining process were discovered at the location. During the raid, underground tanks believed to have been used for heating and processing the sludge oil were also discovered. Two of the underground tanks inspected contained substances suspected to be Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), otherwise known as diesel. Preliminary investigations revealed that the operators sourced sludge oil, also known as black sludge, from Warri, Delta State, and Port Harcourt, Rivers State, and transported it to the illegal facility in Ogere for processing. Further investigation revealed that the illegal operators subjected the sludge oil to intense heat, allowing lighter petroleum components to pass through a series of chambers and filters in a process believed to produce Automotive Gas Oil (AGO) for sale in the Nigerian market. Security personnel at the facility told EFCC operatives that the Chinese operators never disclosed their identities nor the name of the company behind the facility. Consequently, operatives of the Lagos Zonal Directorate 2 of the EFCC have since taken over the premises as investigations continue to establish the identities of the operators, the ownership of the facility and the full extent of the suspected illegal activities and economic sabotage.
