Oh I definitely agree that architecture knowledge is still extremely important. What I would do is utilize it as a learning tool to get it explained in different ways until I understood it. That won't always work but I've learned a fair amount that way in the last few months.

I will say it's A LOT different now than it was when I initially learned. If I were to do it again today, I would lean heavily into AI. Don't just have it code for you, however. Make it explain what it's doing and why and keep asking questions until you understand the concepts.

That is so true @OtherworldJamie! There are so many things I miss about Oregon but the crap they're doing in Salem prevents me even thinking about moving back.
