For @haaretzcom, I wrote about how the settlement enterprise's apologists are on the wrong side of history.

Netanyahu is reminding the public that the greatest existential threat to the dream of Jewish sovereignty in their ancestral homeland isn’t Iran, the Palestinians, or any foreign force. It is, and always has been, him.
💥#BREAKING: @YaronAvraham reports that PM Netanyahu & IDF Chief of Staff Gen. Eyal Zamir are in an unprecedented confrontation regarding Iran. Zamir fears that on election eve Netanyahu is driving towards a scenario of immediate, dramatic escalation. *Authorized by IDF censor.*
Collective punishment is naked revenge and a recipe for payback terrorism. You don’t need to be a West Point graduate to know that.
These elections couldn’t be more existential for West Bank Palestinians.
These are votes to rescue the nation by citizens who’ve too often been failed by it, still fighting to shape its government even as their leaders face racist calls to be boycotted from it. What is more patriotic?
Ron Lauder disclosed that he negotiated a peace deal between Israel and Syria under Hafez, but Netanyahu refused to sign at the last minute. That’s what made Lauder break from Bibi. Decades later, the same man is again putting politics before his people.

Pro-Israel centrists love to manufacture a doomsday scenario for Israel if a progressive wins a congressional election. Why worry about them when Bibi is the one promising to make their nightmare a reality?
I wish everyone who still refuses to reckon with the stakes, the main culprit, the orchestrated failures, and the need for radical change could read this, and wake up.

If the Israeli government had any shame, it would be mortified by the entire concept of protective presence—that random people feel so compelled to travel thousands of miles away just to put their bodies on the line to protect other human beings from its people.
Replying to @bradlander
@bradlander has been detained along with @truahrabbis and many other volunteers at the olive harvest today. We are also detained and tweeting from the police van. Hoping to update more soon.
No balls, no brains. Community notes have more integrity.
The term “Shylock” is rooted in a longstanding antisemitic stereotype. Regardless of intent, its use can reinforce harmful tropes about Jews and normalize language that has long been used to target the Jewish community.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The term was used (for at least the second intent in as many years) by President Trump.

Important context to point out the user of the term regardless of intent.
These factions do so much to sabotage democratic socialism you’d think they’re plants put there by right-wing enemies.

For anyone buying the misinformation that Nithya is an antisemite, **actual antisemites** are voting to dissociate themselves because Nithya isn’t an “anti-Zionist.”
“BIBI NETANYAHU WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN!”
Tell that to all the hostage families whose loved ones came back home in body bags.
🚨🚨🚨Trump endorses Netanyahu ahead of the elections in a post on Truth Social:
To the Great People of Israel:
Bibi Netanyahu has been a Great Warrior Prime Minister, and an even greater Partner for Peace in combatting the Islamic Republic of Iran, with its 51 year old chant, “Death to Israel, Death to America! We will destroy the Little Satan and the Big Satan.” What Country can survive when things such as this are allowed to be said, because eventually, they always end up being true? It would have been only a question of time until Iran would have put that ominous phrase into effect, but they have been systematically destroyed, both Militarily and Financially, and unless they change their ways, rapidly, we will soon finish the job. If Israel has the wrong Leader, which would be anyone other than Bibi, America will have to do this work ourselves, and I am not inclined to do so. Bibi Netanyahu has been Strong, Brave, and Brilliant in the face of tremendous opposition, including that coming from even Israel, itself. Despite all of that, he has endured and, in fact, he has thrived! I have watched Bibi under the most trying of times. Normal men or women in such situations would have wilted under the pressure — But Bibi did not wilt, he actually got stronger, and maintains that same Strength today. This is the kind of Partner that the United States of America is demanding of Israel, a Country for which it has done so much. Please let this Letter serve to represent my Complete and Total Endorsement of Bibi Netanyahu in his upcoming Race for Re-Election as Prime Minister of Israel. BIBI NETANYAHU WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN! Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Serving up Kool-aid for the thirsty. Or as @DanielBral put it this morning, “comfort food.”
When it comes to the Hasbara talking points that get repeated over and over again, there are basically two types of people who regurgitate them.
The first group absolutely knows that what they are saying is Hasbara. They know what is an out-and-out lie, which facts they are leaving out, and which phrases they are manipulating to bend the truth. But they also know they have an audience that is desperate to be told they aren’t the bad guys, and they are more than happy to oblige.
That audience is the second group, the ones who consume the Hasbara and then pass it along. They are just so relieved to read something – anything – that will quell the nagging feeling that they might be on the very wrong side of things. (Social scientists call this motivated reasoning.)
Amit Segal is obviously in the first group – sourced up and completely aware of exactly how all of this works, but willing to debase himself for some of that sweet, sweet speaking engagement cash.
I do often wonder if he ever wishes he could be an actual journalist instead.
These commentators take satisfaction from what’s happening in France because it’s their get-back for France having the nerve to make space for Palestinians. They raise their head to lecture on chaos and disorder everywhere but their own backyard.
That first sentence would’ve gotten this former Chief of Staff of the IDF fired at Hillel.
That’s how absurd, extreme, and late much of establishment Diaspora Jewry is.

The President and non-radical opposition leaders should demonstrate their disgust by translating their statements into unified solidarity visits to the West Bank. Comfort Palestinians, give power to protective presence, and show the world a different face.
I just called Washington Post photographer Heidi Levine, who was brutally attacked by violent rioters on Friday.
As President of the State of Israel, I strongly condemn this outrageous and shocking violence, both the terrible attack on Heidi and other grave incidents of violence, such as what took place today in Taybeh.
I expressed my deepest sorrow to Heidi and apologized for what she went through.
The despicable behavior of the perpetrators of this attack does not represent the citizens or the values of the State of Israel.
Israel is a democratic state governed by the rule of law, and it must act with full force against every form of violence. Each incident is being thoroughly investigated, and we await the findings.
All government, security, and law enforcement authorities must use every means at their disposal to investigate thoroughly, apprehend these lawbreakers, and bring them to justice with the fullest extent of the law.
On behalf of the entire nation, I wish Heidi good health and a speedy recovery.
Knowing that the Israeli gov. is a partner in this crime, those who still oppose any consequences on the settlement enterprise should be treated as if they too accept this crime spree. The perversity is that they believe they’re defending Israel when they’re actively hurting it.
