Azerbaijan has begun work on a $2.9 billion project to sustain gas supplies to Europe through the Southern Gas Corridor, bypassing Russia. At the Shah Deniz field in the Caspian Sea, four piles have been installed for a new compression platform, BP Azerbaijan announced. The project could unlock an additional 50 billion cubic meters of gas and 25 million barrels of condensate over its lifetime. Compression is scheduled to begin in 2029 at the Alpha platform and in 2030 at Bravo.

Former Mossad chief David Barnea (Dadi) explained at a conference why the agency released footage of its operatives working inside Iran during Israel’s 12-day campaign against Iran in 2025.

JUST IN: Serbia’s longtime leader Aleksandar Vucic conceded defeat in Sunday’s parliamentary election, losing to a student-led opposition movement after two years of protests against his government.
The stunning result ends 14 years of dominance by Vucic and his right-wing party. Backed by Vladimir Putin, Vucic had accused the student movement of being a foreign-backed attempt to oust him.
