The year is 1987 and President Dieter F. Uchtdorf is chief pilot of Lufthansa and serving as a stake president.
The Frankfurt Temple was set to be dedicated and President Uchtdorf was asked to give an interview on German national television for the occasion.
He delivered a masterclass.
Every Latter-day Saint can learn from his Spirit-guided responses to these common questions about the Church.
Take a listen (especially you German speakers):
The highlight of this week was definitely SUU’s MPA day on the Hill where @ClintonPMorris and I are part of this incredible program. Had a great time and we were even lucky enough to snag a pic with our pal @MikeLMower!

I am delighted about the launch of the new Congressional Austria Caucus—marking a historic step in strengthening our 🇺🇸🇦🇹 ties.
Thank you to co-chairs @RepGregMurphy & @RepRickLarsen for delivering personal messages at the kick-off. Capitol Hill was alive with the #SoundofMusic.
Fun throwback picture I found of when @ClintonPMorris and I served as Layton City Planning Commissioners together. 🇺🇸

A great message from my good friend, Rabbi Sam Spector, about the hateful chants directed towards @BYU & members of @Ch_JesusChrist. 👇🏻 Let’s all try to be more like Rabbi Spector.

Wrapping up week 5 of this year's legislation session with Senator @mikemckellutah of Senate District 25 in Utah County. He served 8 years in the House before taking over my seat in the Senate in 2021. I still consider myself his favorite constituent!
Thanks to @Deseret for printing my op-Ed on 2 vital issues: antitrust & nat’l security. I urge our federal delegation to ensure these issues stay on their agendas! @SenMikeLee @SenJohnCurtis @RepBlakeMoore @RepMaloyUtah @RepMikeKennedy @RepBurgessOwens

It was a fun day at the Capitol with my fellow @SUUThunderbirds as we celebrated Southern Utah University day on the Hill! It was fun to meet other MPA students as well as some of the professors and other students from the Leavitt Center. Amazing day! Go Thunderbirds! #utpol
First meeting of 2025 for the Committee of Consumer Services, of which I was appointed to as a board member in 2023. CCS is a five-member board within the Office of Consumer Services & its purpose is to advise & help establish policy objectives in the public utilities sector.
It was a pleasure to serve today at the @utahfoodbank . This amazing organization has been feeding Utah families since 1904. I sorted apples into boxes to be taken to various food pantries. In 2024, UFB served 54.6 million meals through 270 partner agencies in all 29 counties!

Arnold Schwarzenegger donated $250,000 to build 25 tiny homes for homeless vets in West LA, delivered just before Christmas.
This is a pic from my Reagan calendar. It shows Reagan’s 1980 inauguration (which he won the election in a landslide). The man smiling & clapping for him was his opponent, Pres Jimmy Carter, who showed such grace and humility despite his loss. Rest in Peace, Pres. Carter 🇺🇸
There is nothing I love more as a Laytonian than looking up in skies of @LaytonPIO and watching similar maneuvers & formations of the F35s stationed at @HAFB! Proud of our military members & the sounds of freedom we get to enjoy thanks to their willingness to serve our nation!🇺🇸

Thanks so much Daniela for stopping by! Congratulations to #Utah for unveiling the statue of Martha Hughes in the US Capitol; Dr. Hughes was the first female State Senator elected in the 🇺🇸 on 3 November 1896, defeating her own husband…
Last week while I was in DC, I visited with Austrian Ambassador to the USA, Her Excellency Ambassador Dr @SchneebauerP. Among other things, we talked about her recent visit in November to Utah. l’m grateful for the amazing friendship shared between Austria & Utah. 🇦🇹🇺🇸
