The year is 1987 and President Dieter F. Uchtdorf is chief pilot of Lufthansa and serving as a stake president.
The Frankfurt Temple was set to be dedicated and President Uchtdorf was asked to give an interview on German national television for the occasion.
He delivered a masterclass.
Every Latter-day Saint can learn from his Spirit-guided responses to these common questions about the Church.
Take a listen (especially you German speakers):

With three wonderful Utah Governors: @GovCox, Gov. Mike Leavitt & @GovHerbert. So many good things to say about all of them.

I am delighted about the launch of the new Congressional Austria Caucus—marking a historic step in strengthening our 🇺🇸🇦🇹 ties.
Thank you to co-chairs @RepGregMurphy & @RepRickLarsen for delivering personal messages at the kick-off. Capitol Hill was alive with the #SoundofMusic.

A great message from my good friend, Rabbi Sam Spector, about the hateful chants directed towards @BYU & members of @Ch_JesusChrist. 👇🏻 Let’s all try to be more like Rabbi Spector.

Wrapping up week 5 of this year's legislation session with Senator @mikemckellutah of Senate District 25 in Utah County. He served 8 years in the House before taking over my seat in the Senate in 2021. I still consider myself his favorite constituent!

Thanks so much Daniela for stopping by! Congratulations to #Utah for unveiling the statue of Martha Hughes in the US Capitol; Dr. Hughes was the first female State Senator elected in the 🇺🇸 on 3 November 1896, defeating her own husband…
Last week while I was in DC, I visited with Austrian Ambassador to the USA, Her Excellency Ambassador Dr @SchneebauerP. Among other things, we talked about her recent visit in November to Utah. l’m grateful for the amazing friendship shared between Austria & Utah. 🇦🇹🇺🇸

The greatest generation was just like every other generation, until a moment called. Greatness doesn’t just happen — it’s within all those who answer the call of service and sacrifice. 🇺🇸
Thank you, Mrs. Jennie Taylor and family, for allowing us to honor the sacrifice of Maj. Brent R. Taylor and all of Utah’s fallen soldiers. We will never forget their courage and dedication in defense of our freedom.

Layton HD16 Friends! Just a few more days left to make your voice heard. At this point, the very best way to make sure your ballot is received is to just use the dropbox right outside the Davis Conference Center (like I did) or vote in person there on Tuesday June 25th. 👊❤️🇺🇸
