One of the times when we actually debated making the alt cover the main cover and the main the alt.

It's awesome when a book's main and alt cover are both incredible

DC fans: how can a character be canon, but the film they are from is not? Star Wars fans: this concept really isn't that difficult to comprehend. Let me show you this bookshelf!

Have you ever been to Yavin? Want a little preview of where #FromtheAshes - the finale to the #StarWars #ReignoftheEmpire trilogy is headed? (didn't quite work out to have this revealed at NYCC)

Pretty cool. Always happiest for the authors seeing their creations get that bigger platform to be introduced to new people.

What was it like seeing Cobb Vanth in a TV show for the first time? Or Rae Sloane in a video game?

Several factors sometimes from retailers, sometimes it's actual initial sales or preorder rate. Sometimes it's just seeing consistency and stickiness week to week. Mostly stuff like that. The anecdotal stuff usually follows after.

Seeing Biddy Blas break into the mainstream: have you been involved with any projects that did better than expected/hoped for? If so, when did you know you had a hit on your hands?

Any book character. Because book characters are way more Glup Shitto than other forms of SW media.

Is there any Star Wars books that have come out that you think would do great with a video game tie in? (The reverse of the excellent video game novel tie-ins like the Battlefront novels, Battle Scars, and Low Red Moon?)

Not much. Same company but diff ed teams. Perhaps a bit more "synergizing" in some ways like at conventions. But otherwise nothing super transformative.

What has changed now that random house oversees young adult fiction in addition to everything else? Is it just a way to streamline stuff and make communication easier?

Bail Organa would be great Krennic would think he was but would suck. He'd go to all the events and talk himself up on panels etc. Jocasta Nu would be a stern old school "don't ask me to do extra stuff" but great editor

Out of curiosity, which Star Wars character (go nuts with how gluppy they are) do you think would fare best as an editor? If there's a different answer for who would perform best, I'm down for that too.

Yes. Stories and books take time to make. Publishing is always living in the future. Already thinking about not just 2028 but 2029 too

Curious about advanced planning... Do you have an approved story for a Star Wars novel set to publish in 2028? Or is that too far into the future for approved projects?

The galaxy change so much during the Imperial era that new authors and new voices would allow us to accentuate that and capitalize on diff themes in a cool way And we like trying a variety of approaches to storytelling.

More seriously what’s the decision making process behind going with three different authors for a trilogy like in Reign of the Empire versus having one author do all of them?
