RIP. Let’s remember that techno was invented in Detroit by black kids, not in Berlin.

The most exhausting thing about defending Britney is having to constantly remind people that the music itself has always showcased her ability to sing.
Growing up with her, songs like “…Baby One More Time,” “Sometimes,” and “Lucky” showcased her range, control, and ability to bring emotion to a record.
Did she lip-sync? Yes, but primarily during performances with demanding choreography. There are plenty of live performances that prove she could deliver those same vocals outside the studio.
I honestly think the constant narrative that she couldn’t sing eventually got to her, and maybe she started believing it herself. That’s the real tragedy. Britney has a distinctive, beautiful voice and an incredible ability to adapt it to whatever a song requires. She’s not just a vocalist; she’s a vocal actress. 👌🏾
Yall really be acting like professionals. Stop diagnosing people. Now everybody autistic?

one day, she'll finally get the recognition she deserves as pop's ultimate vocal chameleon
It’s been “Fuck Diane” since she tried Whitney and it’s gon always be fuck her since she tried Britney!
In 2003, America blamed Britney Spears for breaking Justin Timberlake’s heart. In 2023, she revealed he’d asked her to end a pregnancy.
They had met as kids on the Mickey Mouse Club. She had told the world she was saving herself for marriage. Timberlake had just released “Cry Me a River,” with a Britney lookalike in the video, and gone on TV to say she broke his heart.
In the video below, Diane Sawyer reads Britney’s own lyrics back to her and asks who they’re about. She can barely get a word out. Then Sawyer goes further.
“You did something that caused him so much pain, so much suffering. What did you do?”
Britney says they were both too young, and that she’ll always love him. Sawyer brings up the fact that she’d once said she had only slept with one person. The 21-year-old fights back tears on national television while Sawyer keeps pushing. She says Justin called her, supposedly to catch up, and casually mentioned her lookalike would be starring in his new video.
Eighteen years later, Britney still hadn’t let it go. “What was with the ‘You’re in the wrong’ approach?? Geeze… and making me cry???” she wrote about Sawyer in 2021.
In 2021, after the documentary Framing Britney Spears, Timberlake publicly apologized. In her 2023 memoir The Woman in Me, Britney wrote that she’d had an abortion while they were together, because he said they weren’t ready. She called the Sawyer interview a breaking point and said she felt exploited.
So who should Diane Sawyer have been asking that question: Britney, or Justin?
