Scotland must learn from the bankrupt English run economy. The state can invest in the economy and the people can benefit just as described in the latest book from @MazzucatoM The Common Good Economy which is on sale at the #SSRG Bookstore. scotttishsovereigntyresearch…

Rent increases for council house renters here in Dundee. Not sure where tenants are supposed to find the money for these.
I get the council is facing increased costs but at some point people will crack. Add in the ongoing food, energy and fuel rises.

Our previous investigation established beyond doubt that the chanceries of Europe documented the 1707 annexation of Scotland not as an equal, voluntary union, but as a coerced statutory annexation executed under siege, military threat followed by invasion and occupation, and bribery. Today, we plunge straight into the sovereign diplomatic vaults of Europe’s premier continental power to deliver the ultimate evidentiary hammer blow. In France Holds the File, we demonstrate that the French state tracked, rejected, and recorded Scotland’s illegal annexation at the absolute summit of its executive apparatus; personally inscribed by King Louis XIV, debated in the inner sanctum of the Council of State at Marly, and systematically preserved across an unbroken diplomatic series until today.
This is neither speculative folklore nor a buried secret. The modern French Republic verified, printed, and published this exact file to the world under General de Gaulle in 1965 through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the CNRS. Because France; a permanent, veto-wielding member of the United Nations Security Council; held and holds contemporary sovereign knowledge of this coercive annexation, it cannot plead the standard imperial defence of ignorance. Under peremptory norms of general international law (jus cogens), the inescapable duty of non-recognition and the strict obligation to withhold aid or assistance from an unlawful territorial occupation attach directly to the French Republic today as an erga omnes duty owed to the international community. The cover story of 1707 is obliterated. France holds the receipts and published the proof. The international law of decolonisation and state resumption has arrived at Westminster's door.
France Holds the File: A Permanent Member of the UN Security Council Documented Scotland's Annexation in Its Own State Archive & Proved There Was No Voluntary Union. France Published the Proof Itself Under De Gaulle. Its Erga Omnes Obligations Apply.

Well the 2014 Independence referendum certainly didn't "play out as people said at the time" - the 'Better Together' partnership/voluntary union line ripped up, Scotland dragged out of the EU, lower living standards & Scottish democracy violated. Time to rechoose our 🏴future.
Susanna Reid, "Why have you brought up rejoining the European Union?"
Andy Burnham, "We have a decade of experience now looking back at Brexit, and I don't think it has played out as people said at the time"
"We got a harder Brexit than was proposed in. the referendum campaign, it's weakened our economy, it's also weakened our control of immigration"
"That might surprise people because that was the big issue. - The small boats crisis has arisen since"
"I'm not proposing rejoining in this parliament"
"What I am saying is we need to take some practical steps to make things work better"
My view:
Ten years after the referendum, we can finally judge Brexit on its actual consequences rather than the promises made in 2016.
The economic evidence is substantial. The Office for Budget Responsibility estimates that Brexit will leave Britain's long-term productivity 4% lower than if we had remained in the EU, with trade volumes around 15% lower.
And immigration? One of the great ironies of Brexit is that ending freedom of movement did not deliver the reductions promised. Instead, the Conservative government introduced a new immigration system, and net migration subsequently reached a record 944,000 in the year to March 2023.
We exchanged reciprocal freedom of movement, which also gave British citizens the right to live, work and retire across Europe, for a system that restricted those opportunities while initially producing substantially higher immigration.
The small boats crisis is a separate issue, but Brexit certainly did not resolve it.
There is also an important distinction between what people voted for in 2016 and the particular Brexit subsequently negotiated. The referendum did not specify leaving the Single Market or Customs Union.
Rejoining the EU would require negotiations, public consent and difficult decisions. But discussing it should not be treated as controversial or undemocratic.
Democracy did not end on 23 June 2016. Ten years of evidence should inform Britain's next decisions, not be ignored simply because the subject makes some politicians uncomfortable.
The question now is not whether Brexit can be defended as an article of faith, but what relationship with Europe will best serve Britain's economy, businesses, young people and future generations.
An interesting fact that the British history books fail to mention. During the #SSRGConference independence courious @IainDale (Conservative) said Scotland wasn't a colony and the Union was voluntary.
It's a well known fact that the victors write the history books.
There's growing evidence that Scotland is a colony.
1. No currency or central bank.
2. Permission needed to hold a referendum.
3. Broadcast licences governed by English law.
4. Settler's get to vote on constitutional matters.
5. The poll tax was inforced on Scotland 1 year before England. (A breach of the Treaty of Union)
None of the above would be or have happened if Scotland wasn't colonised by its neighbour England. The @UN needs to open the case about Scotland's position. Then decolonisation can begin. Politicians are behind the curve on this important issue.
Christophe Dorigné-Thomson explores the evidence for the "voluntary union" in 1707, claimed by the United Kingdom as its legitimate origin. In the diplomatic records of France, he uncovers the precise opposite; among much else, this, for instance:
"19 February 1710, recorded in the French Foreign Minister's confidential journal: the Dutch Republic agreed to contractually bind itself "à maintenir l’union de l’Angleterre avec l’Écosse, et à fournir le même secours réciproque de vingt mille hommes et trente vaisseaux de guerre" (to maintain the union of England with Scotland, and to furnish the same reciprocal assistance of twenty thousand men and thirty warships). A foreign power contracted by treaty to suppress the Scottish population by armed force if they rose to dissolve the incorporation. Consensual unions do not require an occupying foreign mercenary garrison to survive."

The reason why the English-as- British Chancellor felt confident in splurting out the truth on Scotland’s Oil is because that they can get away with it, with a tame Scottish ‘government’ doing … what? When the hell is @theSNP going to wake up and take control?

This exposes the problem with list MSPs who are accountable to no-one but their party. Kate Nevens (Green MSP) uses public money to hire a migrant justice officer - immigration is a reserved issue. Surely a deeply cynical use of public money for purely political purposes. (Free to read)
