Obesogenic High-Fat Diet and MYC Cooperate to Promote Lactate Accumulation and Tumor Microenvironment Remodeling in Prostate Cancer out on @CR_AACR aacrjournals.org/cancerres/a… Study explores how systemic metabolism, particularly through a high-fat diet (HFD) rich in saturated fats, accelerates c-MYC-driven #ProstateCancer progression by rewiring tumor metabolism. In a mouse model🐭the combination of c-MYC🧬 activation and an obesogenic HFD led to increased glycolysis and lactate accumulation in tumors, which promoted immune changes, including higher infiltration of tumor-associated macrophages and regulatory T cells. These alterations contributed to tumor growth, therapy resistance, and angiogenesis, which were reduced by lactate dehydrogenase inhibition. Clinical data🥼 revealed similar tumor metabolic shifts in prostate cancer patients with high saturated fat intake, suggesting lactate's potential as a biomarker and target for dietary and therapeutic interventions in advanced prostate cancer. @RIMUHC1 @BoufNadia @Carole_Luthold @eddieimada of @WCMCPathology @Davicioni @DrSpratticus Lisa M. Drs. @DavidP_Labbe & @ZadraGiorgia's team, led by Drs. @BoufNadia & Paolo Chetta, showed that an obesogenic high fat diet 🍟 🍔 rich in saturated fats promotes the development of c-MYC–driven invasive #ProstateCancer through metabolic rewiring. @RIMUHC1 bit.ly/45ySQcu

This weekend, you may have read that Canada’s Terry Fox monument was defaced. While every news organization is focusing on the culprits, we want to do something different. We want to tell you about Terry – and why he’s a hero. A thread 🧵

1/It's been an interesting few days! Guess I'm not really surprised that some don't want to share the code and models underlying their publications. Am surprised that some think that AI research is in the vanguard of materials sharing expectations or practice. My response: lol
