Jake Walman on being healthy scratched ahead of tonight's game against Calgary:
"It's obviously not fun being out... I've been through some tough times in my career, but they make me stronger. I know that for sure, and I believe in myself. So that's where we are now."

Oilers Coach Mike Babcock explains why Jake Walman is not playing tonight, saying he has repeatedly seen the same mistakes on video and Walman keeps finding himself in the wrong spot.
When asked how Walman will handle it, Babcock responded, “You should ask him.”

Ekholm just mentioned he has passed all the return to play protocols. Feels he could play tomorrow. Said he’d never had a concussion before.
“It was scary at first. My legs just gave out and I couldn’t get up to my knees even, but as soon as I got down the tunnel it was like someone flipped the light switch back on and I was back to normal with no headaches or symptoms. I’ve been feeling good since a few minutes after it happened. Luckily I have felt good ever since. I think have an angel watching over me, because it could have been a lot worse,” said Ekholm.

Oilers Coach Mike Babcock had plenty of positives to take away from tonight!
He loved the heavy, physical game from Docker and believes he is a much better player on the wing than at centre.
He was especially happy for Howard getting his first goal of the season and hopes it gives him the confidence to take his game to another level.
Babcock also felt Jarry bounced back nicely after a tough outing and gave Edmonton a chance to win.
The biggest concern remains the injuries. Losing Zach Hyman was another blow to a lineup already missing key players.
Babcock knows the NHL is a grind every night and his team needs to keep finding ways to win.

Good 3rd period response from the @EdmontonOilers after a really poor 2nd period where Tristan Jarry (26 saves overall) bailed them out.
Colton Dach (1-1-2) made the most of his 3rd period opportunity on LW with RNH and Kapanen. Assume he stays there vs Calgary on Wednesday.
Could see a shake-up in the bottom-6 FWD's vs Flames.
