This lawsuit isn't about "protecting marginalized voters." Just like the @loud_light / Appleseed lawsuits against the 10 ballot turn-in limit and signature verification of mail-in ballots, it's about protecting their ability to harvest ballots. #ksleg

I'm sad to share that Frances, the First Cat of KS, was laid to rest today. She lived a long, adventurous life & greeted Cedar Crest visitors with pride & demand for affection. Although all good things come to an end, she no doubt left a big paw print as the First Cat of Kansas.

It’s unnecessary, dangerous, & a disservice to Kansas to pass laws late at night like this. Legislators exhausted & many are not sober. This is an intentional strategy to prevent dissent/debate & pressure legislators to just vote yes so they can go to bed.

It says 78 ballots were missing a post mark in the primary, not 1,000

The Secretary of State told us in testimony on this bill that 2% of all mail-in ballots cast in the 2024 primary -- nearly one in three of the ballots received during the three-day grace period -- couldn't be counted because they lacked a postmark. Thirty-two other states have already solved this problem by requiring that ballots be received by Election Night to be counted. I am disappointed that she would rather disenfranchise thousands of voters than admit that this 2017 law was a mistake. #ksleg
