Jerry Garcia noticed these truths at least 50 years ago.
Both of these ideas are becoming glaringly obvious.
“No [I don’t vote]. Vote for what?…
I’m mainly interested in improving the relationship between the band and the audience, and I’m into being onstage and playing.”
- Jerry Garcia, 1976
Last night, the two evils battled it out once again.
You'll never guess what happened!
Many enemies of this nation slinked another step forward.
Sunk their claws in a little bit deeper.
And what do we get from the VP?
An apology?
No.
Just a lame attempt at distancing himself from an electoral spanking in which he played a significant part in producing.
If only some within the party had the courage and fortitude to speak these truths BEFORE the election...

Thanks for acknowledging these things. Better late than never. I’ll send you the hat.
Have a great “lesser of two evils” night.

Here we go again…
Several critical elements are missing, but this is an interesting, simplified take on geopolitics.

The answer isn’t getting the right person into power.
The answer is limiting power so that the person doesn’t matter.

folk blends with country, while psychedelia becomes more subtle, making room for clear melodies and sophisticated arrangements

Massie is correct but being too gracious in calling them merely clowns.
If that were the extent of it
we wouldn’t be in this ever-deteriorating political setting.

.@RepThomasMassie said something recently that probably represents how many Americans feel about the upcoming election and any other election:
The people you vote for are all clowns.
Sure, voters might want better people, or better leaders, or just something BETTER than the way things are.
But Massie believes that wish might be hoping for too much, considering the kind of people who typically run for office.
His advice: Just accept that they’re all clowns. classythomasmassie.substack.…
The mindbender here is that 20% of the simulations fell OUTSIDE
59k to 463k!
What percentage of the time did it land at zero? 😳
Claude just re-ran the "1,000,000 Bitcoin futures" sim. 67 seconds. @willywoo
$BTC at end of 2028, in today's dollars, using only BTC's own history:
• Median: $165K
• 80% of outcomes: $59K–$463K
• Most likely price: $80–85K (today)
• $280K or higher: 1 in 4
• Below today: 1 in 5
The median isn't the most likely price. The upside tail pulls it up while the peak of the odds stays near where we are.
Assumptions are on the chart. Change them, change the number.

Bluegrass.
In the desert.
In the rain.
Dancing from the rooftops to the front of the stage.
A sunset demanding to be noticed through the clouds.
Wildly accomplished songwriters and musicians coming from far away to display their talents.
Sometimes a moment tells a lovely tale.
If you ever get the chance to see Sister Sadie, do it!

This album “steal your money” cemented my deadheadedness… in 1993.
A double CD in the discount bin, after having seen my first show, could not be resisted!
The beautiful Garcia solos in Half Step and Cold Rain and Snow were particularly enthralling.
And Big River is so well done and fun!
"Being anarchic, having that anarchist streak, serves me on other levels — artistically, certainly.
So I don't want to eliminate that aspect of my personality."
— Jerry Garcia, 1993
"But to be an anarchist and assume responsibility for yourself, I think this is a great idea."
— Ron Paul, 2014
Anarchy does not mean "burn it down."
Garcia said it served his art.
Research and think about anarchy for a bit and it might spark a flash in your brain--not in the streets.
Today is a great day to be grateful for Bob Weir.
His off-kilter life started as an adopted kid with a learning disability.
Just a short 16 years later his journey as a musical pioneer was underway.
Later, somewhere along the way,
an azimuth became involved!
Happy Birthday and RIP Bob Weir ⚡️🤍⚡️
Bob Weir explained to his daughter, Chloe, why Dead shows felt different from every other concert.
At his memorial in January, she shared his thoughts with us:
"We have a special relationship with our fans. They give us energy, we focus it, shape it and give it back to them — what I call the azimuth. The music happens there."
For sixty years that exchange produced a lot of joy.
Bob's other daughter, Monet, said this:
"If we play our cards right, these sixty years will be just the beginning."
Luckily for us, old man Weir mentored many over the years, passing on his understanding of the elusive "azimuth".
Bob was right, we should be good for at least another 300 years!
Is this why Owsley was nicknamed “Bear”? Haha!
What if the guy who cooked millions of doses of pure LSD for the 1960s also spent nearly 50 years eating nothing but meat—and said it was the real secret to staying strong and sharp?
That was Augustus Owsley Stanley III, better known as Owsley or “Bear.” Born in 1935 into a Kentucky political family, he took a wild path: Air Force electronics work, ballet dancing, and then the heart of San Francisco’s hippie scene.
In the mid-1960s he became the first private person to make large amounts of high-quality LSD. Between 1965 and 1967 he produced hundreds of thousands (some say millions) of doses. “Owsley” became slang for pure acid. He supplied Ken Kesey’s Acid Tests and reached musicians like the Beatles and Jimi Hendrix. At the same time he joined the Grateful Dead as their early money man and sound engineer. He recorded their shows, helped design their skull-and-lightning-bolt logo, and worked on the giant Wall of Sound system.
But one of the most striking parts of his life was his diet. Starting in the late 1950s and sticking with it for almost half a century, Owsley ate only animal foods. He believed humans are true carnivores, built to live on meat the way cats do. Vegetables and plant foods, he said, were unnecessary or even harmful. His rules were simple: eat red meat, eggs, fish, or poultry; keep the fat high (often 60 percent or more of calories); cook meat rare; use butter, cream, or cheese but skip sugary milk; add almost no salt and no supplements.
He claimed the all-meat way kept his body young and strong well into his seventies. When he faced throat cancer in 2004, he credited the diet with slowing the tumor by starving it of sugar. For a while he even tried to get the Grateful Dead to eat the same way—filling their fridge with big slabs of beef—though not everyone stuck with it.
After prison time and years in the music world, Owsley moved to Australia in the 1980s. He lived off the grid there until he died in a car accident in 2011 at age 76. The Acid King is remembered for fueling the 1960s counterculture and for the Dead’s sound, but he also left behind a decades-long real-world experiment in eating only meat.
It's always interesting to discuss Jerry Garcia's later quote on the same subject of not voting - or why he did not vote:
“Constantly choosing the lesser of two evils is still choosing evil.”
-Jerry Garcia, 1989
Karmically, one can be comforted by "less" evil.
Garcia was focused on the "evil" itself.
Maybe more importantly, the focus could be on "constantly".
History has proven that three-plus decades of "choosing evil" has, indeed, forsaken any shred of humanity that might have been still lingering in politics.
"... is still choosing evil."
"... still choosing evil."
"... still choosing evil."
"... still choosing evil."
It's hard to imagine having a rational conversation about elections and arguing voting FOR a candidate because he is "less evil" than the other evil person going against him.
Yet here we are, many decades on, with millions righteously voting against the "more evil" candidate from that "more evil" party.
How have we been played so hard for so, so long?
Focusing on community, friends and family will never be time wasted like it is on these "less evil" characters that surround us.
oMaybe more importantly, Maybe more importantly, o

As much as I love Jerry Garcia, I disagree with his viewpoint on that. I do think voting for the lesser of two evils is important karmically. And you can still focus your energy on improving family and community. Just go vote that's it. It's very easy.
