At every point in the assembly line between recruitment and death on a hopeless meat assault in Ukraine Russia’s corruption system propels recruits forward towards their inevitable death. You go to buy eggs for your dinner in Russia. You wake up, still drunk, on a train to Ukraine. In a stupor you’ve signed a mobilisation contract. Multiple Russians have already pocketed segments of your sign-on bonus. At training you’ll die unless you bribe the Sargent. You’ll starve unless you bribe the cook. On the way to the front, you’ll freeze, unless you bribe someone else for a blanket. You’ll be put in the carriage with the ex-prisoner convicted of cannibalism. The list of iterations and market opportunities for Russia’s army of parasites is endless. Guilty of corruption? Pay your way out of jail with the corruption proceeds by spending the rest of the war in a boarding house in Berdyansk. At the position you’re tied to a tree as a sacrifice to a Baba Yaga drone until you hand over your money card to the commander… Eventually you end up in a video like this: Be warned though, this system is not an accident. ⚡️One core meaning of the signifier ‘Tantra’ is ‘Continuity.’ The core problem in empirical science and non-Buddhist theology is: ‘At some point something MUST have come from nothing.’ The same scientist who poo-poos the Christian origin myth will wax lyrical on the Big Bang Theory. Well, where did that energy (Mana) come from?! In the view of the Highest Yoga Tantra (HYT), we sidestep this issue. We focus on what we can know: phenomena (an M-N word) arise, endure, and decay. We see this every day a million times. Thoughts arise in our minds (M-N-). They endure, momentarily. Then they decay and are replaced by newly arising thoughts (Nagarjuna is the guru on this - Nagarjuna's Mulamadhyamakakārikā (OUP translation by Jay Garfield entitled ‘The Fundamental Wisdom of the Middle Way’). Our cells arise, endure, then decay. Our energy (Mana), institutions, bodies, continents,…. arise, endure, decay… These thoughts arise from Causes. Virtuous Causes provoke virtuous effects and non-virtuous causes provoke non-virtuous effects: this is the essence of the iron law of karma (cause and effect). The quality of ALL of these arising, enduring, decaying phenomena, according to HYT, in Ultimate Reality is Emptiness and Compassion. Synonyms of Emptiness are: Dependent Arising (see that Cause and Effect again - we’re not even looking for the primary cause. We’re focusing on the system as we found it, already working), Selflessness (the effect isn’t generating itself. It is being generated by a Cause- it is therefore selfless). ‘Emptiness’ is easier to grasp for those who believe in the quantum theory. Go small enough and you get air, energy, light. And so if this is accepted - the ultimate nature of reality is emptiness then all our bad thoughts are as empty as our cells, bodies, body politic, - they’re non-existent. They’re empty. They’re as meaningless, from the perspective of ultimate reality And the purpose of all this is to prepare us for the hallucinations we’ll experience as we go through the death process. If we don’t get frightened by them if we understand in that moment we are going through the death process (decaying) that these negative hallucinations and monsters and regrets are empty, like everything else. That they are emanations (another M-N- word) from our empty minds and so are not worth getting stressed over. The promise of HYT is that in that moment of the death process if we realise the nature of ultimate reality is emptiness and compassion, then we will have the peace of mind to notice the right light to follow and not become distracted. This is all in HHDL’s intro to the penguin edition to the Book of the dead - graham Coleman version. It bears reading repeatedly, inmho. This is also useful in the moment we experience any sense of psychological panic, say, in work - we know our bodies are emptiness and our minds therefore so are the thoughts which are dependent on our empty bodies. If we can develop the focus, insight and perspective to look at ourself, in the moment of a conflict, say, with our boss or a vastly annoying colleague… And if we correctly recognise that whatever is going on is emptiness then we will have the presence of mind to respond deliberately. We will act deliberately in the moment virtuously and as a result of a strategic choice, not merely from an emotional perspective. So whether or not we manage while going through the death process to realise the emptiness of the hallucinogenic phenomenon and therefore become able to control our continuity of consciousness, in these daily conflicts that arise, endure and decay in our bourgeois lives the mere recognition that what we’re experiencing is emptiness and that we’re empty and that ultimate reality is emptiness and compassion might help us be more virtuous. We operate in Conventional Reality but understanding the nature (emptiness and compassion) of ultimate reality can help us navigate Conventional Reality. 1/2
