No.48 Ground Instructors' Training Course (Officers) at GIS in Air Force Station Tambaram had its valedictory function on 17 Oct ‘26. Reviewing Officer, Air Cmde Tapan Sharma AOC, AF Stn Tambaram handed over the certificates to all 15 graduating officers & trophies to the winners
The course at AF Stn Tambaram was aimed at equipping the officers with methods of instruction & curriculum design among other subjects. The RO shared his vast experience as flying instructor and highlighted important role of instructors to develop the next generation in IAF.

Recruiting Office Headquarters Chennai conducted a series of outreach sessions for 700+ girl students from Government Schools across Tamil Nadu, organised in batches of 25–30 students to ensure effective interaction and engagement.
The initiative aimed to create awareness about career opportunities in the Indian Army and motivate young girls to explore a career in uniform. The sessions highlighted the opportunities available to women in the Army, while emphasising the values of courage, discipline, leadership, dedication and service to the nation.
Through these interactions, the students were encouraged to dream big, challenge stereotypes and consider the Indian Army as a rewarding career option. The initiative reflects the Indian Army’s commitment to empowering young women, fostering awareness and inspiring the next generation to contribute towards nation-building.
