One of the hardest things to do in politics but Jim is spot on (not just for Abdul, but in general this last week). It’s change the subject season and unless your opponent hands you a gift (looking at you Vivek), don’t let them move the discussion away from winning turf
Trump wants Democrats to take the bait. With eight days left in Michigan’s Senate race, the focus needs to stay on affordability and what voters are dealing with. I discussed that with @PeterAlexander on MS NOW this morning.

Again, I hesitate to read too much into the early vote, but the numbers in NC, NV and the two states where we have elections from last year to compare to (VA and NJ) should scare Republicans. Maybe their voters show up in droves on Election Day. But maybe they just stay home.
If there is a Blue Tsunami, we'll look back at these early votes in Nevada as a huge indicator, much like they were for Trump in 2024 xitter.cf/umichvoter/status/2114…

Late Clark mail dump of 5,500 ballots comes in nearly 3-to-1 for Dems, who now lead by 24,395 ballots statewide, or 5.5 percent. I am starting to see blue people...
The early voting blog is updated. More mail may be coming, but Dems have added 2,000 ballots to their lead from Sunday -- it's now 22,500, or 5.1 percent. GOP skittishness must be growing. Almost Groundhog Day-like sameness to the daily numbers. thenevadaindependent.com/art…

This book is really damning for Kushner. It claims the UAE paid Kushner $50 million to get Rex Tillerson fired as Secretary of State.

I’ve asked this before but is there any historical event that is like the Opposite of 9/11. Like something so good that happened that it changed the world forever

18k 18-29 voters in GA today, 53% of the same day in 2024, by far the highest %24 day so far. Today only: Black 18-29: 77.3% of 2024 White 18-29 voters in blue ATL counties: 51.9% White 18-29 in the rest of the state: 31.3% Cumulative numbers below
This has not budged much, and it's something to keep an eye out on this weekend and in the last couple days of early voting next week, when the electorate gets much younger.

Who could've guessed the joke would've baited Trump into spending the last week of the election talking more about his White House renovations?
A butthurt Trump copes by defending the Cheesecake Factory: "I fix things very good, very beautifully and I always build beautiful and inexpensive... He said, this isn't a Cheesecake Factory, can you believe it, which is a very successful company... He doesn't like successful companies"

These armchair analyses of Michigan's absentee ballot returns by counties Trump won vs. counties Harris won are some of the worst stuff on this website right now.

I'm waiting on the registrar in Albemarle for the new October numbers, but here are the numbers for Charlottesville/Prince Edward/Lynchburg. These are really good numbers for Tom Perriello in VA-5. Super strong Cville registration (student precincts >2024), weak Liberty reg.
Tomorrow is a crucial day in VA-05: the voter registration deadline. Voters who haven't registered/updated their registration by tomorrow will have to cast a provisional ballot on Election Day through same-day registration. College students across the Commonwealth most commonly use this method of voting. A key part of the Perriello campaign's strategy is registering these students to vote, but they (and of course registrars around the Commonwealth) are hoping they get a lot registered by the deadline. Perriello's built up an advantage relative to VA-05's electorate in 2025 by trying to get students registered at UVA & Longwood. There's no clear strategy as far as I am aware by the McGuire campaign to counteract with getting Liberty students registered, but Liberty's growing regardless so their voter registration is up as well, cutting into Perriello's advantage. I'll be calling the registrars on Monday for results; the official ones aren't posted on the DoE website until the end of the month but they're always kind enough to let me know the current voter registration number when I call (God bless them). VA-05 is somewhere between Tilt R and Tilt D; there is a decent chance that this race may not be callable on election night if it comes down to the same-day registration votes, which are not counted until 1 week after the election. Our talented call team is likely to run the math once the total number is posted (though not all of these SDRs will be counted, rejection rate varies by locality). We did this in VA HD-41 in 2023 at @CNalysis and VA HD-34 in 2025, making us the first to call those races.

Note that the new charges against Comey are brought in an information, not an indictment, which means DOJ bypassed the grand jury. The Constitution requires charging via grand jury unless the defendant consents to an information, which does not seem to have happened here.
Pat Fitzgerald, Comey's lawyer "This most recent case involves an October 5, 2016 New York Times article that two different teams of prosecutors investigated during the first Trump administration. Both times the Government determined that no charges should be brought against anyone. Now, ten years after the article was published, the Government filed an 'Information' against Mr. Comey that was not approved by a judge nor issued by a grand jury. It purports to charge Mr. Comey with crimes that he did not commit."

Noon update in NV: Repubs, with a lot of help from the rurals, are doing very well in in-person early voting. But all of those gains have been swept away by mail ballots in Clark and Washoe. Ds are ahead by 400 overall today, pushing lead to just under 21K ballots.
