Lula vs Jair was a trade unionist vs an army lieutenant. Very cold war political origin stories. Dont see that too often anymore

As the last real British Columbian I would win by Assad margins if I ran for the NDP but I refuse to run against Emily Lowan #ImWithHer

Lula is gonna have a hard time governing in this term but at least they have more time to find a successor. The forces propping up Flavio are not going away! Amazing victory anyway

Blaming the greens is dumb and counterproductive. The greens won no new seats and only slightly increased their vote share. NPD voters did not defect to the greens en masse, they stayed home

YES! Associate the BC conservatives as closely to Donald Trump as possible! That will guarantee them victory in the next election I promise

Seen a lot of americans trying to compare the BC election to an american one but don't really get it. We don't really have red states and blue states like in the US. Alberta is the closest thing to a one party province and the NDP might actually win next election there

In the era of ragebait and algorithms the right wing has an inherent advantage in messaging. Their ideology is based on exploiting insecurity, fear, and anger. So are the algorithms of every social media website

Interesting that almost all of the vote share gained by the conservatives was in Vancouver. The strategy of stoking fears of "indigenous land grabs" was incredibly successful and Eby really lost control of the narrative

The numbers are really confirming the narrative that this has more to do with Eby demoralizing and disengaging the progressive vote, than any kind of conservative wave. The cons got less votes in this election than the one they lost in 2024

Strange impasse, Doerkson successfully convinced voters he was a moderate but idk if the party is onboard. Yet the far right's agenda is not popular. Repealing DRIPA is probably by far the most popular far-right policy but it still only polls at like 44%. Nothing is settled

NDP voters didn't want this election and didn't mobilize, or they jumped ship to the greens. Eby thought he was being clever but he was too clever by half

To me the question isn't if the cons are gonna win, it's are they gonna win by a wide enough margin to survive the infighting when the right wing tries to assert control over the party again

a conservative victory does not indicate any real right wing realignment in BC, only fatigue with an ineffectual PM and party leader in David eby. The cons will not understand this and the right wing of the party will tear it apart thinking they have free reign to fully chud out

Honestly respect to the real ass centrists voting for CentreBC. Throwing your vote away for the most milquetoast centrist party ever is actually kinda beastmode
Okay, 7 green seats is actually insane but anyways

I'm afraid that if we elect a conservative government, the ostrich scourge will be allowed to take root in my beautiful province again
