Iowa Class 3A State Tournament Player Update
March 3, 2026
@DMCAthletics @Dev_reese02
Reese DeVooght – SR | Des Moines Christian
DeVooght produced the most complete offensive performance for Des Moines Christian in the 52–46 state tournament victory over Forest City. The senior guard scored 23 points on 7-of-16 shooting while adding three made three-pointers and a perfect 6-for-6 performance from the free throw line.
Her scoring profile demonstrated balanced shot creation across multiple zones. DeVooght generated perimeter spacing with three-point shooting while also converting opportunities inside the arc and drawing contact to reach the free throw line. That ability to score at all three levels stabilized Des Moines Christian’s offensive structure throughout the game.
Beyond scoring, DeVooght contributed six rebounds, providing additional possession value from the guard position. While her assist totals were modest, her primary role in this contest was offensive pressure and shot generation, particularly during key stretches where Des Moines Christian needed half-court scoring.
Within the Conceptually Thinking Basketball framework, DeVooght’s performance represents a classic offensive engine profile: multi-level scoring, free throw efficiency, and the ability to maintain scoring gravity within structured possessions. Her 23-point output ultimately served as the decisive production factor in Des Moines Christian advancing from this matchup.
