On Thursday I wrote about the 2014 injunction Russell Brand obtained against a woman who accused him of assault. I've now obtained the final order. It's breathtaking. She had no lawyer. No trial. Yet she was silenced for life - even barred from speaking to the police. 🧵:

The facts contradict you @jlund76. It’s estimated that the British spent the equivalent of £90bn from 1807-67 suppressing the transatlantic slave trade alone. At one point over 13% of the total manpower of the Royal Navy was deployed. No other nation on earth did as much to end the universal practice.
They made a token pathetic effort compared to the profits they made over 380 years 😂😂 you don't get forgiven for a crime just because it's not as profitable later on wake the f up enabling slavery and justification is both cowardly and psychopathic. Just saying lol

The British public are, by and large a pretty polite bunch and will put up with a lot. But there comes a point where enough is enough. For decades, communities have watched their industries vanish or be sold off; infrastructures crumbling; villages, towns and cities being hollowed out; basic essentials becoming hideously expensive; taxes continually going up and community spirit disappearing. Britain has been destroyed, dismantled, closed down and sold off to multinational corporations. Britain has become a fire sale of national assets and the British public have paid a heavy price. But it’s pretty clear that the British public have had enough of being treated like suckers by successive governments who are more in thrall to funnelling assets and wealth to their corporate cronies than serving those who pay their wages - the people. Our entire political system is rotten to the core and it’s time for a new form of politics - for the people rather than for corporate greed at our expense. Almost every public service and infrastructure is crumbling. Millions of people are really struggling to survive the cost of living crisis and many are slipping into bankruptcy, bad health, poverty and homelessness. NHS waiting lists are at record levels of over 7 million people facing treatment delays. Farmers are being fleeced by the supermarkets. Small businesses are going bankrupt at record levels. The high street is dying. School buildings are unfit for purpose. The care homes sector is a total mess. Utility services are completely crap, but household and business utility payments have become extortionate. But nothing ever gets done to fix any of this. Yet our government continues to spend £billions of our tax money putting up illegal migrants in hotels, issuing dodgy contracts to corporations, net zero targets and throwing money at Ukraine. And then to rub salt into the wounds, the government punishes everyone with horrendous levels of taxation and finds numerous ways to create a surveillance society and reduce our freedoms. It’s a wilful government piss take of the people they are supposed to prioritise - namely, the people who fund them - British taxpaying citizens. It’s completely unacceptable. We are paying them to repeatedly punish us, while at the same time, the biggest transfer of wealth history to the super-rich is happening right under our noses. Millions of people right across Britain are all saying the same thing right now: Enough is enough.

Rupert Lowe's Restore Britain - bang to rights. They've now deleted their post. How can anyone take seriously a party whose official X account continually posts fake AI generated photos?
Replying to @RestoreBritain
Oh good! We can have another game of Spot Restore's AI embellishments. What fun! 😃 Here's some...

I guess the concept of country before party is alien to you. Rupert had our No2 target seat, and removed his nomination on nomination day, thus making it impossible for us stand. And was forgiven.

What did my family of miners, factory workers & peasants steal off Dawn? What have I stolen from a member of the political elite whose entire income comes from everyone else's taxes.
A stolen watch doesn’t become yours just because you pass it down to your children. So why apply a different rule to stolen labour, wealth and land? Reparations are about inherited benefit and inherited loss. Time doesn’t erase injustice.

The patron saint of Ireland was British. 🇮🇪☘️🇬🇧 Born in Roman Britain. Around 385 AD. His father was a decurion, a Roman local official. At 16, Irish raiders kidnapped him. Along with thousands of others. He was enslaved for six years. A shepherd. Alone on the hills of Ireland. He escaped. Found a ship. Made it home to Britain. Then around 432 AD, he went back. Voluntarily. To the land that enslaved him. Not for revenge. He spent the rest of his life there. Building churches. Teaching. Baptising. Forgiving. He never came home. His own words survive. The Confessio. One of the oldest personal documents in European history. Written by a British man in Ireland, fifteen hundred years ago. "I am a sinner. A simple country person." "I never had any reason to return. Except the Gospel and its promises." Happy St Patrick's Day. 🇬🇧☘️ Be Proud Of Us.

At #YewView, we have a wildlife pond and the kingfisher is visiting regularly. Sometimes, he uses this perch when he has caught something. The snow was the icing on the cake, to really highlight the beauty of this bird!😍🥰

And this is why I’m so passionately campaigning for the assisted dying Bill. Terminally ill people deserve the right to choose a peaceful, safe and compassionate death when the times comes. It will bring comfort and peace of mind whilst living with these devastating diseases

Embarrassing typo. He obviously meant to write 'Speaking'.
Spiking will be made a criminal offence. My government was elected to take back our streets, central to this mission is making sure women and girls can feel safe at night. Perpetrators of spiking will feel the full force of the law.

I agree completely. The coercion argument is so ill-informed. Who would gain from the coercion? Most assisted deaths take place when the patient is in the final stages of dying from cancer, when there is no prospect of being a burden on your family for years to come.

I invite @RoryStewartUK to meet me, a terminally ill adult, and discuss his concerns about coercion and the Assisted Dying Bill. I’d love to add my perspective. His comments on @RestIsPolitics border on insult to dying people like me and I’m keen to address his misconceptions.

I prefer that the main land mass of Britain is in the ownership of tens of thousands of British farming families committed over generations to their localities than in the ownership of rapacious multi-national corporations. But Lab is taking us to the latter globalist destination

If I understand this correctly, this member of parliament is taking money from religious groups in order to willingly consign me to an inhumane death. Do I have the wrong end of the stick? Happy to meet and discuss.
Disgraceful that there are underhand dealings over an issue as fundamental as assisted dying. MPs are elected to represent the views of their constituents, & 3 in 4 Britons now support assisted dying yougov.co.uk/politics/articl… theguardian.com/society/2024…

I have terminal cancer. I would like the choice not to suffer at the end if the pain becomes intolerable, especially as I’m allergic to opioids and pain meds. My daughter and family are fully supportive of this as we have lost family members and friends to stage 4 cancer and they have seen how horrific it can be. They don’t want me to suffer at the end of life and I don’t want that to be their final memory of me. I hope that I will never have to use it and that palliative care will be good enough. But it will bring comfort and peace of mind knowing it’s there incase I do need it, as it will for so many others.

It's heartening to see an MP taking this approach - honest about strong views on both sides of the assisted dying debate and striving to disagree well.
Labour MP Kim Leadbeater discusses assisted dying with @TrevorPTweets, highlighting the importance of it being a 'respectful and compassionate debate'. #TrevorPhillips trib.al/wkmumC6 📺 Sky 501, Virgin 602, Freeview 233 and YouTube
