Of course it’s the Russians. There was never any doubt
As expected, it's the Russians that are calling in all the bomb threats across Europe the past 3 days.

Peggy Noonan, the Reagan speechwriter who has spent decades as the Wall Street Journal’s keeper of the old Republican flame, has written the GOP’s obituary. Her verdict: Trump is the author of the ruin. It wasn’t the war alone, she argues. It was the prices. The tariffs. Above all, the corruption, showy and shameless: crypto, pardons, federal contracts for his sons’ companies. Then came the decadence. Three days before the election, Trump threw a jungle-themed Halloween party with a caviar bar while Americans outside the gates added up their grocery receipts. Ron DeSantis called Tuesday’s results “close to an extinction level event” for his party. Trump’s response: sign a ballroom beam, declare his office a national monument, and blame Fox’s polls. Noonan has a line for that: “Please. It was you, Fredo.” When a Reagan speechwriter is quoting The Godfather at you, the party is over. wsj.com/opinion/trump-is-the…

I put together a list of everything that broke the back of Trumpism. The gas prices. The unsanctioned war. The massive corruption. The incompetence. The tariffs. Playing nice with Russia. The cruelty against American citizens. The overly aggressive deportations. The accidental arrests of American citizens who were Hispanic.
The ballroom. The reflecting pool that doesn’t reflect. The Qatari 747. The aggressive redistricting push. The threats against our allies. By the way, I’m scratching the tip of the iceberg.

Republicans are blaming the Iran war and rising prices for this week's electoral shellacking. Fair enough. But the economic damage didn't begin with the war. It began with indiscriminate tariffs that amounted to a tax increase on American consumers.

Bad policy, bad character make bad politics: erratic tariffs, impulsive Iran war, blanket pardons, apparent corruption, weaponized justice, ICE brutality, mountainous deficits, hiding Epstein, abandoning allies and coddling enemies. Hoping for a course correction, for the country and for my party.

No doubt the political geniuses at NatCon, Heritage, American Compass, AmCon looking at the election returns right now: We gotta have Trump’s VP run for president on “four more years!” because only a candidate with twice the nastiness and bigotry of Trump and none of his charisma can fulfill the revolution.

I love my Jewish and Muslim neighbors, and I understand the pain and fear they feel, but for me, the most important issue in this election is restoring the Senate as a check on a dangerously corrupt president. That’s why I am supporting Abdul El-Sayed.

Two years ago, Vivek Ramaswamy was giving soaring post-partisan rhetoric. Now he’s a trailer trash politician going after something that happened to a woman 30 years ago. Here’s what happens to people in that world: they become liars and then they do really stupid things against their own principles just to try to win. I hope he gets trounced in the election.

Mike Rogers is one of the chief architects of the modern surveillance state and a champion of the forever war. Privacy and war are two of the very few issues on which a member of Congress can make a difference with a marginal, decisive vote. Michigan, let’s make sure Rogers gets nowhere near the U.S. Senate.

Every Republican is complicit.
"It cannot be stated often enough or vociferously enough," writes Kori Schake. "The Trump administration is helping Russia to conquer Ukraine. The United States of America has taken the side of an aggressor against its innocent victim." Dark and true. aei.org/foreign-and-defense-…

Pelley: There was an imperative to move our coverage in the direction of the president, to put a thumb on the scale, if you will, in terms of the president’s viewpoint. Stories were getting pulled because there was no administration voice in the story. This was after many weeks, even months, of trying to get someone in the administration to talk to us and being told flatly, “No, there’s no way you’re going to talk to you.” Those stories ended up, for the most part, getting back on the air again without the administration speaking because pulling them didn’t do any good either. So what we had was a situation that I’d never seen. I was at CBS News almost 40 years and at 60 Minutes almost 30 years, and I had never seen anything like this. This was corporate influence coming into the news division, saying, “We want you to report stories with this particular bent in terms of politics.” It was anathema to all of us who’d worked at 60 Minutes for so many years, and we fought a battle against it. We pushed back against it, and that led to, last year, the complete gutting of 60 Minutes, in which, in one morning, without warning or, still today, without explanation, the entire senior staff, including the executive producer, were all wiped out and replaced by new people that I have to assume the corporation decided would be more amenable to their kind of reporting of the news.

There’s a reason Mike Rogers has the worst favorable/unfavorable ratings of any Michigan statewide candidate. If you scoured the state, you could not find a less likable person to run for Senate. Yet the GOP elites pushed for him to be the nominee—twice!

Today’s edition of the New York Post, a newspaper read in Republican offices in Washington and New York. As Americans watch the evacuation operation in Oleshky, they must remember who bears responsibility for the countless deaths in Ukraine. Their blood is on the hands of Putin and the russians. To end this war, the United States must pressure russia, not Ukraine. Three organizations – Razom for Ukraine, American Coalition for Ukraine, and Nova Ukraine – placed the following advertisement in the New York Post. Translation of the advertisement: “You are a humanitarian, sir, and I pay tribute to you for that,” – Special Envoy Steve Witkoff to Putin. Just days earlier, russia bombed a residential building in Zaporizhzhia, killing 17 people, including a mother and child who were holding hands. Pressure russia, not Ukraine.
