Every single federal judicial vacancy needs to be filled in the lame duck session. The Senate should pull all-nighters for as long as it takes. Democrats wont confirm a single Trump judge once they take over.

At 93 years old, Chuck Grassley should resign while a Republican governor can still appoint his replacement.

No one believes Amy Klobuchar will not raise taxes. The question is how she will redefine “taxes” to lie about how she raised revenue.
MN Democrats have already proposed tax increases to keep their other promises on universal healthcare, free college, affordable housing, etc:
1) New 5th tier income tax
2) New wealth tax
3) Changes to how MN taxes capital gains
Maybe Amy won’t “raise” taxes - she’ll just create new ones? 🧐

Friends, the most oft-cited quote from Irenaeus is: "The glory of God is a human being fully alive." Do you see how this is precisely correlative to the assertion that God needs nothing?
The glory of the pagan gods and goddesses was not a human being fully alive, but rather a human being in submission, a human being doing what he's been commanded to do. But the true God doesn't play such manipulative games.
He finds his joy in willing, in the fullest measure, our good.

Friends, the laity are meant to practice obedience in a manner distinctive to the lay state. This means a willingness to follow the higher voice of God rather than the voice of one’s own ego. It is to listen to the promptings of the Holy Spirit.
I’ve often spoken about Hans Urs von Balthasar’s distinction between the ego-drama (the story written, produced, directed by, and starring oneself) and the theo-drama (the one written, produced, and directed by God).
We might say that the entire point of the spiritual life is to break free of the former—a preoccupation with our own wealth, success, career plans, or personal pleasure—so as to embrace the latter.
And this requires obedience to God—an attentiveness to his voice and a willingness to follow it.
Picture what our country would look like if, right now, every Catholic decided to live in obedience to the voice of God. How much of the suffering caused by our own ego-dramas would be diminished!

Cornyn op-ed on what went wrong:
"The second forgotten lesson was even simpler: Be likeable. We are no longer in 2010, when articulate, appealing conservatives like Marco Rubio and Pat Toomey challenged “establishment” candidates over real policy differences. Today, it is fringe challengers who play down voting records and policy in favor of performative politics. A strange reverse personality test has taken root. If a candidate talks like an affable, reasonable person, he must be a sellout. If he makes bizarre comments or has past scandals, that’s considered authenticity." wsj.com/opinion/republicans-…
