The EA buyout was financed with $20 billion extra company debt. You're going to see the most dogshit slop imaginable come out from EA, which is really saying something considering this is EA we're talking about.
After more EA layoffs last week, a new report cites workers at the company complaining of "terrible" morale and "heavily pushed" generative AI like Claude. One called EA "a cold dead place that's slowly decaying as leadership pilfers every last cent." destructoid.com/ea-workers-c…
One more from the original crew. ;___; Godspeed and thank you for the adventures.

Eric Bauza was a unique voice talent who brought joy and laughter to millions around the world. During his 15 years at Warner Bros. Animation, he was the voice of Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck among countless other characters. He followed in the footsteps of giants like Mel Blanc. Eric said that carrying on the legendary legacy of the Looney Tunes was among the greatest honors of his life. In addition to his incredible talent, Eric was a treasured part of our animation family. Our hearts go out to his loved ones.

There is a real economic cost to Valve’s foray into forced political disclosures. Besides taking 30%, they’re also taking a potentially even larger fraction of developers’ revenue and livelihood by undermining their business with these AI hate campaigns.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Steam requires disclosure of generative AI for player-consumed content via its standard Content Survey (alongside ratings), shown on store pages for transparency, not as political statements. Steam's base 30% revenue share matches major console platforms.

If you’re proud to use AI then why hide it Tim?

Forcing developers to write a political statement to be used against them by the hate mob they’re helping organize is abhorrent.

Isn't it weird, Tim, how you didn't have to convince anyone that Unreal Engine or Fortnite was the way of the future, the haters couldn't keep it down, and you made a lot of money, BUT you keep pissing and crying all over yourself about AI?
YOU are the biggest point against it
I love how he calls it a "hate mob". Tim, they just don't want to buy what you're selling. And it's reasonable to tell them how the sausage is made.

Today I turn 88…I’ve seen some serious shit. The most serious of it all is love. I love my family, my friends, and my wonderful fans. The power of love remains.

Bioware has been a massive part of CDPR history. We befriended them when localizing and selling Baldur’s Gate games in Poland, Czech, and Slovakia. And later they were great help when lending us their engine for Witcher 1, sharing their wisdom and even giving us a spot at their booth at E3. I had a pleasure to visit them a few times in Edmonton and also host them in our Warsaw office. Very sad for the people affected, but also sad to see a legendary brand go down. Not a great day in the games industry.

Please @Steam, I beg you, add an AI filter option.

I reject the premise that Tim Sweeney is Gabe Newell's Wario since Wario is at least a likeable character.
You know he's very confident about AI because he keeps insecurely telling everyone it's great and everyone should shut up about disliking it. That's what a secure and confident person does. :3

Developers who are getting value from AI should speak up. There's safety in numbers. MOST developers are doing it and loving it - and if they're not talking about it it's mostly out of fear for haters attacking them, their product, and their company.
Behold, an extrovert!
I dislike introverts who need to be told everything multiple times when in a group setting. You have to keep offering them food, try hard to engage them and check on them to ensure they are ok. They will just sit quietly in a corner and you will never know if they are ok or not, or if they are upset or need care. I hate doing that labour for them.
Like dude you can talk, you are normal! You are an adult, not a child. Please emote, talk and let others know what you want or don't want. Be a part of what's going on and don't kill the vibe by just disconnecting with who's around you.
Sincerely, an extrovert who always puts that effort.
