I PREFER them unfinished. I like to read a series over as long a period in my life as possible. I love the agony of waiting, the high when I get it, having 1 more thing I love to look forward to that isn’t over yet, and the bond I developed with the MCs over the years.

Agree. Writing is no different to music. It needs rhythm and voice and melody and all the bits and pieces. Just play the same chords and you’ve lost the audience.

This tends to be a controversial one, but I love the relationship between the main character and his primary love interest is written so far in the Kingkiller Chronicle. It feels very realistic to me in its complication. We'll have to see how things go in book 3 😁
