Alberta, itβs worth remembering that in 2019, the UCP inherited one of the top five integrated healthcare systems in the world.
Could we do healthcare better? Yes. But in no way did the restructuring of healthcare by the Premier make things better for Albertans.

"He believes it's intended to undermine confidence in Elections Alberta."
Do I have some news for him! Confidence has been lacking for months. Perhaps a serious investigation was necessary prior to this.
Alberta's chief electoral officer is warning people of a spoof list of electors website with fake data.
He believes it's intended to undermine confidence in Elections Alberta.
He adds that current deepfake legislation doesn't address the issue, so appropriate authorities and cyber security agencies have been called in.

Bill 11 is going to devastate many aspects of our public HC system, and the physicians working in AB know it
This will lead to increased suffering and death for those who canβt jump the queue (lack money, or inconveniently have higher acuity illness private wonβt do)

As a proud Albertan and prouder Canadian β and the son of immigrants β Iβm voting Remain in Canada and NO on all 9 other questions this October 19.
Canada welcomed my parents with open arms and gave us a better life. We must not turn our backs on that generosity. Public healthcare and public education should remain strong and accessible. We can manage growth responsibly without building walls between people.
There is real hope for Alberta β but it wonβt come from the top. It comes from us. From Albertans (and all Canadians) who refuse to stay silent.
β
β
Talk to your family, friends & neighbours β especially newcomers.
β
Show up on October 19 and vote your values.
Alberta is Canada, and Canada is our home. Letβs build it together.

βSmithβs UCP did not campaign on the Free Alberta Strategyβs tenets... Smithβs UCP doesnβt, therefore, have a democratic mandate to pursue these ideas, by any standard. Yet they have implemented the components of the strategy at a ferocious pace.β

Premier Smith's energy rebate wants all your private info, meanwhile PEI's benefit is automatic.
"No one needs to apply for this benefit"
"No one will be asking for your banking details or anything else"
"You don't need to do anything other than meet the eligibility req's"

Danielle Smith wants more power over our courts.
But just last week, a sexual assault trial was thrown out because the UCP arenβt providing enough $ to staff our provincial courts.
Maybe she should show responsibility with the power she has before she demands more? #ableg

When a medical professional grades our fall season as "FUCKED," I'd hope we all take notice.
Let's not kid ourselves, Danielle Smith and her worthless party couldn't give a rat's ass unless it cost them power.
Alberta deserves better.

Alberta, we're "FUCKED" this fall season and Canada's public healthcare system is in serious trouble!!
The good news is that once patients get into the system, the care provided by our doctors, nurses and healthcare teams is among the best in the world, and nobody needs a Visa or Mastercard at the bedside.
The problem is getting timely access to that care.
Emergency departments are overcrowded because hospitals are full and we do not have enough staffed beds in ur country, especially Alberta.
In addition, far too many patients who no longer need acute hospital care are waiting for rehabilitation, home care, assisted living or continuing care. That blocks patient FLOW throughout the system.
As someone who considers himself a Progressive Conservative and has spent more than 35 years working in emergency medicine, I don't support the current direction of acute healthcare reform in Alberta.
This isn't about public versus private. It's about leadership, operational expertise and getting the fundamentals right.
We need experienced healthcare leaders who understand how hospitals actually function and who are accountable for improving patient flow, safety and outcomes.
Healthcare isn't ideological. It's operational.
P.S. Get Vaccinated and stay home if you are sick
My prediction this fall season: "It will be a "shit show" and the worst ER & Health system Crises in our lifetime...unless @ABDanielleSmith & @FreeAlbertaRob actually listen to the front line staff (for their own political hides)...
I would not count on Danielle to fix anything...she was a friend of mine and I have lost complete confident in her on healthcare... we are all on our own.
Someone, please tell me I am wrong...

Today Smith said that she would consider requiring First Nations to release audited financials publicly in order to continue doing business with them...
Just like "everyone that we do business with".

So, I havenβt been vocal on this platform for several years now. Today I can no longer keep silent. My mom is 80 years old. She has been sick for 36 years. She has been in and out of hospital since March of this year with a host of problems. She was readmitted to 1/?
These conditions are mind blowing for what used to be a world class, sought after healthcare system. HOWEVER, if we think this is bad, just imagine what this looks like once the 2 tier, paid for system is in full swing. This looks 100 times worse then. #StopKillingAlbertans 11/?
This will happen to almost ALL of our sub-specialists in Alberta!
Govt will open the floodgates to unfettered private care delivery, theyβll move to MUCH higher paying low acuity community care
Then govt will scratch its head and blame doctors when govt canβt staff hospitals
I love working with dermatology residents and dermatologists. That is - the few that seem available in our publicly funded healthcare system. We train them in the public system and they go off into the lucrative private cosmetic world. Itβs a big problem.
