When people constantly portray cyclists as law-breaking nuisances, it can encourage drivers to see every cyclist as a problem rather than a person sharing the road. That can affect how much space they're given, how closely they're overtaken and how patiently drivers behave.

If I get on my bike for my morning commute (as I did today) or if I get in my car for my morning commute I pay exactly the same taxes.
This idea that cyclists do not pay taxes is just weird.
I am as entitled to the road on my bike as I am when I get in my car.

I told someone I had an e-bike. Their response: "That's cheating!" It would be if I competed in triathlons with it. But why would it be cheating if I am getting groceries?
Folks, I implore you to stop thinking bikes are recreation or sport only. Bikes are transportation.
