My Web3 Onboarding Capstone Walkthrough Just finished the free Web3 Onboarding pathway at @RavenNetworkHQ. It wasn’t “watch a few videos and call it a day.” It was structured modules, quizzes, practical tasks, and actual hands-on practice. Here’s my honest walkthrough of what the journey looked like and what stuck. Raven Academy’s free onboarding path is designed as the entry point into their contributor ecosystem. You learn the basics, prove you did the work, and build a public Nest/profile with reputation tracking. From there you can move into the paid Creator or Builder pathways if you want deeper skills and verified credentials. Early modules focused on the non-negotiables: How wallets actually work (custodial vs non-custodial) Seed phrases, private keys, and why “not your keys, not your crypto” is real Basic security habits so you don’t lose everything to a random DM or fake site I treated these seriously. One careless click in Web3 can wipe you out. Then we moved into multi-chain basics. Not just “what is blockchain,” but looking at different ecosystems (TON, Ethereum, Solana, Base, etc.) and why they exist. The goal wasn’t to become an expert overnight. It was to stop treating every chain as the same thing and understand the trade-offs. Practical side (the part that mattered most to me): Setting up a proper wallet Getting testnet tokens Sending test transactions Doing simple DEX swaps on testnets These modules force you to actually click the buttons instead of just reading about them. That changes how you understand gas, approvals, and explorers. Security kept coming back. Simple rules that still catch people: • Never share your seed phrase • Verify links before connecting a wallet • Don’t sign random transactions • Revoke old approvals •Ignore “support” DMs offering free airdrops I already knew some of this from past experience, but seeing it framed clearly inside the course still helped. Reputation and credentials are a big part of Raven’s model. They talk about streaks, XP, Soulbound tokens, and building a public Nest that shows what you’ve actually done. The idea is that learning turns into visible contribution instead of just another certificate sitting in a folder. What I liked: It felt structured. You know what the next module is. The free path is genuinely free. There’s a clear path from “I just joined” to “I have a profile and some proof of work.” What still requires effort: Consistency. The modules won’t make me a builder or researcher by themselves. I'll still have to publish, practice, and show up. My personal takeaway after going through the onboarding: Web3 is still noisy. Most people get overwhelmed by scattered YouTube videos, Telegram groups, and hype. Having a clear sequence (wallets, security, chains and practical tasks) makes the early stage less chaotic. I’m going to keep using what I learned to write clearer threads and researching projects properly. If you’re starting out and want a structured free path instead of random content, the Raven Web3 Onboarding is worth checking. I submitted this thread as my capstone walkthrough. Still learning. Still building. Still curious. $Shalom 🕊

Good morning Nugget! No matter how intelligent, careful, or extraordinary you are, life will still teach you these 3 lessons: 1. Not everyone will like you. You will have enemies, even when you mean no harm. 2. You will make mistakes. Nobody gets everything right. 3. You will face sadness, problems, and difficult moments. Nobody has a perfect life. The goal isn't to avoid these things. It's to learn, grow, and keep moving despite them. When you make mistakes, admit them, correct them, learn from them, and move on. Life is not about being perfect. It's about becoming better every day.

You are one cloud hack away from losing everything. If you stored your Web3 wallet's 12-word seed phrase on your phone or computer, your crypto is a ticking time bomb. Here are 3 silent killers waiting to drain your wallet—and how to fix it right now: 👇 1. The "Saved Draft" Trap Think your email drafts or Apple Notes are safe because you have a strong password? Think again. If a hacker breaches your iCloud or Google account, the first thing they script their bots to search for is a 12 or 24-word string. If you use a pirated operating systems for browsing, you are most likely already being fed malwares each time you connect to the internet. Don't believe me? Download AVG Antivirus and get it installed on your computer, get connected to the internet and see what I'm talking about. It gets better when you sign up for its premium plan. 2. The Screenshot Exposure: Did you take a quick screenshot of your seed phrase during setup, intending to write it down "later"? Your phone automatically syncs that image to the cloud. If a malicious app gets photo permissions, or your cloud backup is compromised, your keys are gone. 3. Clipboard Hijacking Some malware specifically sits in the background of your laptop or desktop waiting for you to copy text that looks like a seed phrase or wallet address. The moment you copy-paste it into a file, it's intercepted and sent to a malicious server. How to fix this TONIGHT: 1️⃣ Get a piece of paper (or a metal backup card). 2️⃣ Write down your seed phrase physically with a pen. 3️⃣ Delete EVERY digital trace: clear trash folders, cloud backups, and photo recycles. 4️⃣ Moving forward, treat your seed phrase like physical cash. Your seed phrase is the master key to your digital vault. There is no "Forgot Password" button in Web3. If you learned something from this, drop a 🔒 below to secure the algorithm. $SHALOM 🕊️

Everyone says Web3 cuts out the middleman. So why are millions of people still buying crypto from local vendors and P2P traders? The truth about "Crypto Vendors" and the hidden centralisation inside Web3: 👇 1. The Fiat Gateway Problem Blockchains are completely digital ecosystems. They only understand tokens, smart contracts, and cryptographic keys. They do not understand cash, bank transfers, or paper money. To turn your physical money into crypto, you need an entry point. That entry point is a vendor. 2. Traditional Middlemen in Crypto Clothing When you buy crypto from a P2P vendor, you are relying on: • Human trust (Will they send the crypto after I pay?) • Centralized platforms (Binance/Paxful holding the funds in escrow) • Traditional banks (To send the local fiat transfer) This isn’t decentralized. It’s just a new version of a currency exchange booth. 3. The Software Middleman When you use Giant Wallet, XendFinance or Bitget wallet to withdraw USDT directly to your bank account, you aren’t doing a pure peer-to-peer trade. You are interacting with a software middleman. The app uses automated smart contracts and centralized payment APIs to coordinate the trade for you in the background. 4. The Banking Bridge A pure blockchain cannot talk to a traditional bank. To get Naira or Shillings into your bank account, these apps partner with traditional payment processors and liquidity providers. They handle the compliance, account name verification, and banking rails. That bridge is a corporate middleman. 5. Code vs. Humans So, what actually changed? Web3 didn't eliminate the middleman; it upgraded them. • Old Middleman (P2P Vendor): Slow, high risk of scams, manual bank transfers, human error. • New Middleman (Automated App): Instant processing, automated escrow contracts, fixed fees (like Giant's 1%), no human interaction. The Verdict: You will almost always need a middleman whenever crypto touches real-world fiat currency. The goal of Web3 isn't just to have "zero middlemen." It is to remove untrusted, manual human middlemen and replace them with auditable, automated software infrastructure. Automated gateways are completely shifting how we off-ramp crypto in Africa. $SHALOM 🕊️

Traditional banks take your savings, lend it to others at 15–25% interest, and give you less than 2% back as a "thank you." In Web3, you can cut out the banker and take that interest for yourself. Here is how Decentralized Finance (DeFi) turns your phone into a self-running bank: 👇 1. The Liquidity Pool In a normal bank, money sits in a vault. In Web3, users put their crypto (like stablecoins tied to the US Dollar) into a smart contract called a "Liquidity Pool." This pool acts as an open, digital vault that anyone in the world can borrow from automatically. 2. You may ask how collaterals are provided Simple: Borrowers must deposit more crypto than they want to take out (Over-collateralization). DeFI runs an automated collateral system. If a borrower fails to pay back, the smart contract automatically sells their deposit to cover the debt. Zero human debt collectors needed. DeFi is shifting global finance from institutional trust to algorithmic execution. Have you ever tried earning yields on stablecoins, or do you still prefer traditional high-yield savings accounts? $SHALOM 🕊️

Earning interest in Web3 sounds amazing until a smart contract gets exploited and a protocol goes to zero. If you are looking into DeFi savings, do NOT deposit a single cent until you read these 3 critical safety rules: 👇 - Smart Contract Risk A Web3 bank doesn't have insurance like traditional banks do. Your ultimate security is the code. Before using any DeFi platform, check if their smart contracts have been audited by reputable firms (like CertiK or OpenZeppelin). Never chase high yields on unaudited apps. - De-pegging Risk Most Web3 savings rely on stablecoins (USDT, USDC). If the stablecoin loses its 1:1 match with the US Dollar due to bad reserves or market panics, your savings lose value instantly. Stick to highly liquid, transparent stablecoins. - The Golden DeFi Rule If a platform promises you a 50% or 100% annual return (APY) on your money, run. High yields usually mean the protocol is printing a useless token to pay you, which will eventually crash. Sustainable DeFi yields should mirror or slightly beat global macroeconomic interest rates. Web3 gives you the power of a banker, but it also forces you to take on the responsibility of a risk manager. $SHALOM 🕊️

Ever looked at that tiny webcam light on your laptop and felt a sudden chill? It’s not paranoia. If your Windows PC doesn't have an active, modern antivirus, you aren't just risking your crypto—you might be letting a stranger watch you through your own screen. Here is how "Botnets" infiltrate your life: 👇 - The Invisible Intrusion Most people think malware just slows down your computer. True! But modern hackers use what’s called a RAT (Remote Access Trojan). It sneaks in via a sketchy link, a cracked software download, or a fake Web3 game beta. Once inside, it takes total control of your Operating System. And by cracked software, It includes your pirated windows OS. - The Botnet Army Once your OS is infiltrated, your computer becomes a "Zombie." It gets drafted into a Botnet—a massive, silent army of thousands of hacked computers controlled by a single master server. They use your internet and your processor to attack corporations, mine crypto, or scrape data in the background. - Turning the Cameras On The scariest part? They don't just use your processing power. Advanced malware can silently bypass the software triggers that turn on your webcam's indicator light. They can track your keystrokes as you type your passwords, log into your crypto wallets, and watch your physical room. Your PC is your digital home. You wouldn’t leave your front door wide open in a busy city overnight. Check your laptop right now. Do you use a reliable antivirus, or are you just raw-dogging the internet? AVG antivirus remains one of the best antiviruses out there when it comes to cutting such connections. A good/reliable antivirus doesn't just protect data; it buys you peace of mind so you can browse, build, and trade without looking over your shoulder.

The Psychology of Memecoins 🧵 To be completely honest about memecoins. Most people don’t buy them because they believe in the "revolutionary technology." They buy them because traditional finance feels broken, inflation is eating their savings, and a token with a funny dog or cat picture represents a ticket to financial freedom. But here is the dark math no one tells you: 👇 1. The Player vs. The House Memecoins are not traditional investments. They are a decentralized casino. In a normal project, value grows because developers build useful software or generate revenue. In a memecoin, value only grows because of "PvP" (Player vs. Player) dynamics. For you to make a 10x profit, someone else has to buy your bag at the exact top and lose everything. 2. The Illusion of "Early" You see a screenshot on your timeline of someone turning $50 into $50,000 on a new Solana or Base memecoin and think, "I just need to find one early." What you don't see are the "insiders" and developer wallets who generated 80% of the token supply for free before launch, waiting to dump it on you the moment the hype peaks(Not all developers have this mindset tho). But there is absolutely nothing wrong with allocation a small, tiny percentage of fun money into memecoins if you treat it like a lottery ticket. The danger starts when you treat gambling as a retirement plan. If losing that money will ruin your week, you are playing with fire. Crypto is one of the many places where you can make a year's salary in an hour—and lose it in ten seconds. If you’re playing the casino tonight, treat it like a night out. Spend only what you’re okay losing, laugh at the memes, and don't risk your rent money. $SHALOM 🕊️

Is Windows Defender enough to protect your crypto and your privacy? Windows Defender is a great baseline, but for Web3 users handling real assets, a premium third-party antivirus (like Bitdefender, Malwarebytes, or Kaspersky) adds zero-day threat detection. It blocks malicious scripts before they can inject code into your operating system or join a botnet. If you are downloading cracked versions of Photoshop, premium VPNs, or getting "free airdrop checkers" from random Telegram groups, you are begging for a RAT. Malware developers explicitly hide botnet code inside cracked files because they know you’ll disable your antivirus to install them. Stop doing it. Although codes can fail, but physics doesn't. Your antivirus might fail to protect you from certain attacks especially when you're not on its premium package. A temporary Solution: • Put a physical slide-cover over your laptop webcam when you aren't using it. • Check your task manager for random background apps eating up 90% of your CPU. • If you hold significant crypto, perform all trades on a completely clean, secondary device. $SHALOM 🕊️

If you are browsing the internet on a Windows PC without a locked-down browser, you are practically leaving your bank accounts and crypto wallets wide open. Windows is the number one target for hackers because it’s where all the money moves. A 🧵: 1. The Ad-Blocker Fail-Safe Remember those fake "Sponsored" Google search traps? You can completely delete them from your life. Go to your extension store right now and install uBlock Origin. It doesn't just block annoying YouTube popups; it nukes malicious sponsored search ads, sketchy redirects, and background tracking scripts before they even touch your screen. It’s non-negotiable. 2. The "Bookmark Only" Rule for Web3 If you hold crypto or handle sensitive business data, never, ever type the name of your wallet or exchange into a search bar to log in. The one time you are tired or distracted, you will click a phishing link. Find the official, verified URL once (like etherscan. io or binance. com), bookmark it on your browser bookmark bar, and only access it through that button moving forward. 3. Isolate Your Financial Life Stop using the same browser profile for watching random movies, downloading torrents, and managing your money. Especially downloading torrents(specifically gamers). If you use Google Chrome or Brave, create a dedicated "Finance Only" profile. No random extensions installed, no sketchy browsing history—just a completely clean, isolated space where you only open your bank or crypto apps. It limits your exposure significantly. Your browser is your window to the digital world, but it’s also the front door for malware looking to slip into your Windows OS. Taking these three small steps takes less time than making a cup of coffee, but it saves you a lifetime of heartbreak. Do yourself a massive favor and audit your extensions this morning. $SHALOM 🕊️

Hackers don't just sit around waiting for you to find their sketchy websites anymore. They pay for them to be seen. They buy Google or Bing ads targeting popular search terms like "Keplr wallet," "Discord desktop," or "Node.js." Because they pay for the ad, their malicious clone website ranks above the real, official website. When you click that fake link, the website looks 100% identical to the real one. You click "Download for Windows." Instead of the real software, you just downloaded an Infostealer malware payload specifically designed to crack open Windows AppData folders, extract browser cookies, and steal saved passwords. The scariest part? The URL might look incredibly real. Hackers use a trick called "Typosquatting"—using domains like metamask-sec .io instead of metamask .io. If you are rushing or sipping your morning coffee, your brain skims right past the extra letters, and you give the malware administrative permissions to run on your OS. The internet isn't a safe neighborhood anymore; even search engines can point you toward a trap. Before you download anything on your PC or Mobile device today, look closely at the URL and make sure it doesn't say "Sponsored." $SHALOM 🕊️
