Environmental groups are pointing to rising #EnergyCosts as one reason behind Tuesday's political shakeup in #Texas. David Kieve, president of @EDFaction, says voters are sending a message about the cost of keeping the lights on.

Great Ted Talk from our @edfaction board member @powersjon. It’s well worth a watch, and Jon nails it. We need a strategy to beat back opposition to local solar + storage:

I’m heading to Arizona to help my friend @ClaraforAZ and other candidates @EDFaction is supporting to get out the vote, so I voted this morning here at home. Participating in our democracy always feels good.

Halloween is tomorrow, but the real horror is the EPA’s plan to roll back pollution standards. We trick-or-treated at the EPA to deliver 94,000+ public comments urging the agency to protect our communities. Thanks to everyone who commented and showed up!

Weakening our ability to restrict methane emissions is not only bad for the environment — it’s bad for business. Most U.S. producers have already adopted methane-reduction tech, giving them a real edge in global markets where responsibly sourced gas is in demand. Rolling back the rules rewards the least efficient, least responsible polluters and puts that edge at risk.
We can and should back American industry and protect its competitive advantage without gutting environmental protections.
Breaking News: The Trump administration is set to relax rules restricting the emission of methane, a gas considered to be a “super pollutant.” nyti.ms/3WP2qaG

In the midst of his self-inflicted affordability crisis, Trump decided to let the oil & gas industry continue to waste billions of dollars-worth of extremely potent methane. Under Trump's EPA, the fossil fuel industry has already wasted $7B+ worth of planet-warming natural gas.

Climate change is reshaping life in Nevada, and our communities are feeling the consequences. Declining water levels at Lake Mead, extreme summer heat, and prolonged drought threaten our economy, public health, and way of life. On International Day of Climate Action, I’m renewing my commitment to protecting Nevada’s natural resources and building communities that can withstand a changing climate. Future generations are counting on the decisions we make today.

When I held my Energy Affordability Town Hall, some constituents told me they were paying more than $1,000 per month to heat their homes. Now the seasons have changed, but the high cost of energy hasn't.
In fact, starting this month, the One Big Beautiful Bill eliminates clean energy tax credits, meaning costs will climb even higher. Energy bills are painfully unaffordable, and this Republican budget is the opposite of what we need.

Bad: The Trump Admin is leaving taxpayers on the hook for capping abandoned wells—hugely expensive and hugely damaging to our health.
Worse: the Trump Admin is eliminating efforts to reduce pollution from methane—a super polluter that over 20-years traps 80x as much heat, ounce per ounce, as carbon dioxide.

Energy costs are a top tier issue for voters right now. Thank you, @RoyCooperNC, not just for your leadership on clean energy, but for showing candidates everywhere how to make headway with voters when their opponents aren’t on the side of the people paying the bills.

The Trump Administration is putting its foot on the scale to kill solar and increase energy costs for Americans. Here’s how ⬇️

This should be a bigger story.
A Reagan-appointed judge just ruled Trump’s Energy Secretary illegally ran a secret panel of climate deniers to cook up a biased report and sabotage clean air rules.
They didn’t follow the law, didn’t follow the science, and betrayed the public to serve Trump’s agenda.
Disgraceful. nytimes.com/2026/01/30/clima…

Curbing dangerous methane emissions is the fastest, most effective way to slow global warming. In 2021, President Biden signed my legislation to do just that. Delaying these requirements is equivalent to adding 25 million gas-powered cars to our roads.

Northern Michigan continues to recover from the generational ice storm in March of 2025. In an attempt to cut costs, FEMA reimbursed part, but not all, of Michigan’s emergency request.
The White House approved repairing roads and bridges, public buildings, and parks. But in a surprising move, they denied funding to reimburse our utilities. As you may remember, we had an enormous number of downed lines and polls, and our line workers did Herculean work to restore power to large chunks of the state.
The Governor appealed this decision, which the bipartisan federal delegation supported.
But in October, the Administration denied the appeal.
And this is the result. We all understand cost-cutting, but shorting communities that have gone through one-in-a-generation natural disasters isn’t the place to look.

Oh look. Another way the Trump Admin is raising energy costs on middle class families.
Oil & gas companies want to spew and waste methane instead of controlling it. Why? Because it’s consumers like you who pay for the wasted energy – not them.
This is just another favor to Trump’s wealthy fossil fuel friends at Americans’ expense.

Oil & gas firms, energy industry orgs, & even a Republican Senator are breaking w/ the Trump admin over its latest climate rollback, urging the EPA to keep its Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program.
Will the calls from the fossil fuel industry be enough?
