Prime Minister @AliFalihAlzaidy received European Union Ambassador to Iraq @EUAmbIraq. The meeting addressed several issues, including the signing of a joint investment agreement between Iraq and the European Union aimed at attracting more European investment to Iraq. Discussions also covered the participation of European companies in this year’s Baghdad International Fair. The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of Iraqi-European relations, particularly in the economic sector and various areas of investment, as well as cooperation in the banking sector and the promotion of trade. The Prime Minister invited European companies to take advantage of the investment opportunities available in Iraq, highlighting the facilities provided by the government to investors, along with the availability of labor and raw materials for numerous industries. He noted that the Development Road Project would serve as a catalyst for strengthening economic relations between East and West. For his part, the European Union Ambassador congratulated the Prime Minister on the completion of the ministerial cabinet and commended the measures and policies adopted by the government in recent months, particularly in implementing economic reforms and strengthening partnerships with European countries following the Prime Minister’s visits to France and Germany.

استقبل رئيس مجلس الوزراء السيد علي فالح الزيدي، اليوم الخميس، سفير الاتحاد الأوروبي لدى العراق السيد كليمنس سمنتر. وشهد اللقاء بحث عدد من القضايا، من بينها توقيع اتفاقية مشتركة بين العراق والاتحاد الأوروبي في مجال الاستثمار، بهدف جذب المزيد من الاستثمارات الأوروبية الى العراق، وكذلك مناقشة مشاركة الشركات الأوروبية في دورة معرض بغداد الدولي لهذا العام. وأكد سيادته أهمية العلاقات العراقية الأوروبية، لاسيما في الجانب الاقتصادي وقطاع الاستثمارات المتنوعة، بجانب التعاون في المجال المصرفي وتعزيز التجارة. ودعا السيد رئيس مجلس الوزراء الشركات الأوروبية الى الاستفادة من الفرص الاستثمارية المتاحة في العراق، مع ما تقدمه الحكومة من تسهيلات للمستثمرين، فضلاً عن توفر الأيدي العاملة والمواد الأولية للعديد من الصناعات، لافتاً إلى أن مشروع طريق التنمية سيمثل عامل تعزيز للعلاقات الاقتصادية بين الشرق والغرب. من جانبه، قدم سفير الاتحاد الأوروبي التهنئة للسيد الزيدي بمناسبة اكتمال التشكيلة الوزارية، وأشاد بالخطوات والسياسات التي اتخذتها الحكومة في الأشهر الماضية، خصوصاً في مجال الإصلاحات الاقتصادية، وتعزيز الشراكات مع الدول الأوروبية بعد الزيارة الناجحة لرئيس مجلس الوزراء لكل من فرنسا وألمانيا.
