Super interesting "The Illusion of Time."
College-graduating women in Pakistan underestimate how soon marriage activities arise (i.e. family pressure).
If they don't get in gear and get a job right away, the window is gone and they might never enter workforce.

We develop a methodology for revealing the weights that import tariffs place on groups in society. Our estimates imply that redistributive motives across sectors -- rather than across states -- account for a significant fraction of US tariff variation.

After the Second World War, the German theorist Hannah Arendt suggested that totalitarianism takes root in societies where lots of people feel unnecessary or unwanted. In the years after 2016, it was common for the media to report on underemployed people in the Rust Belt who felt that they’d been cast aside. Today, manosphere ideology rages against a society that, allegedly, claims not to need men, and young people wonder whether there’s room for them in an A.I.-saturated workforce. “We have a real need to be needed,” Joshua Rothman writes. “And yet many forces—thinking machines, aging, economic and social dislocation—appear to be making us feel redundant.” Read his latest column: newyorkermag.visitlink.me/P4…

Hard to choose a favourite Nordhaus paper but this is the one that has stuck with me. 1975! RIP
Mas o meu artigo preferido dele é outro: "Schumpeterian Profits in the American Economy: Theory and Measurement", de 2004.
