Among broken promises, Joe Hortiz kept the one about “responsible” spending, successfully likening his Chargers to the tagline of a beer ad.

Relevant #Commanders news: the team signed OLB Kyle Kennard — the 2024 SEC Defensive Player of the Year (11.5 sacks, 3 FF at USC) — to their practice squad
Kennard was a fourth-round pick of the LA Chargers in 2025. He was waived with an injury settlement after failing to appear in a game this year following an undisclosed injury in the preseason

A bright spot for the Chargers this season? Akheem Mesidor, who has quietly developed into one of the team's best young players. Derwin James Jr. recently had a bold declaration: "He's going to be one of the top edges in this league."

💯
Replying to @RyanDePaul
People instantly arguing the Chargers shouldn’t trade for Nelson. This isn’t even about if they should’ve traded for Nelson specifically. This is about Hortiz’s broader approach to roster building and inactivity at the trade deadline. Criticizing the lack of a strategy isn’t advocating for every available player. There’s a difference. Maybe I should have been clearer.
Two picks got this deal done…
Front office is a joke not getting this deal done to help fix the o-line. Could have even got a sign/trade deal done to keep him a Charger for the future
Trade! The Colts are sending eight-time Pro Bowl guard Quenton Nelson to the Seahawks for a 2027 third-round pick and a 2028 fifth-round pick, sources tell @ringer @netflixsports.

Herbert has been vocal on what he wants before.. The franchise just doesn’t listen to him.

Chargers are 2+ seasons away from being AFC Conference Divisional winners.. if they clean house:
- Hire the correct OC (Steichen)
- Reconstruct (Slater, Derwin, Herbert)
- Trade dead weight (QJ)
- Finally listen to Herbert on what works for him⚡️
