The RTX 5090 is Nvidia’s flagship gaming GPU, but AI companies are buying them in huge quantities for servers.
Reports show RTX 5090 cards purchased by the pallet, despite prices over $5,000 each.
Compared with Nvidia’s $16,000 RTX 6000 Pro, a 5090 with 32GB of VRAM looks like a bargain for AI workloads.
We are competing with AI companies that can buy these cards in bulk, making an already expensive GPU even harder to get.
We need to stop calling the RTX 5090 a “gaming GPU”

Why Lovecraft was brilliant: one reason.
When you’re writing a story with a fantastic element, one big obstacle is the reader’s suspension of disbelief. As soon as the author introduces an alien, or a magic spell or a dimensional gate, the reader knows it’s not true to life.
The easy way out is to set your story in the far future, or a fantasy setting. This lowers the barriers at once. No one cares that Gandalf or Dune’s Sandworms are implausible.
But what if it’s horror story? Set in the present day? How can you thwart the reader’s natural instinct?
