A NEW AND PRODUCTIVE NIGERIA IS POSSIBLE, AND NIGERIA WILL BE OK Yesterday, 26th of October, our Party, the NDC Campaign council was inaugurated in Abuja. As part of my remarks, I told Nigerians how our richly endowed nation, the giant of Africa, is now the world’s poverty capital. Regrettably, over 140 million Nigerians are multidimensionally poor, representing more than 60% of the population. Corruption remains widespread, while insecurity affects every part of our country. Unemployment and inequality are at record levels, and Nigerians face severe and avoidable hardship. Even with the removal of the fuel subsidy and reckless borrowing, with a debt of over ₦165 trillion, there has been little or no corresponding increase in productivity. In the last three years, President Tinubu has foisted on Nigeria a reign of corruption and duplicity, resulting in extreme poverty. Today, President Tinubu has made history as the leader who has created the largest number of poor people in the world. This year, he has made about 16 million Nigerians extremely poor. Just last Saturday, President Tinubu, while launching his re-election campaign in Kaduna, blamed past and opposition leaders for the hunger and poverty that have ravaged Nigerians. What is clear is that President Tinubu does not have the competence, the capacity, the character, compassion or the commitment to solve the problems he created. He lacks the energy and the resolve to get Nigeria out of the current worsening crisis. Under President Tinubu, despite his promise to fix electricity, Nigeria now has the lowest consumption of electricity. Without reliable power, businesses cannot expand efficiently, hospitals cannot provide dependable services, schools struggle to operate effectively, and households face additional financial burdens. We will pursue an electricity reform programme focused on reliability, affordability, investment, and accountability. We will work with relevant federal and state institutions, regulators, operators, and investors to address the weaknesses affecting generation, transmission, and distribution. Under President Tinubu, Nigeria is more divided than ever, more terrorised than ever and more insecure than ever. Under President Tinubu, Nigeria has fallen into a crisis of values, such that our budgets are no longer credible and our laws are forged. Nothing is sacred. Nothing is spared from degradation, not budgets, not laws, not institutions. From our engagements with Nigerians across the country and all segments of society, the message is clear: Nigerians want and deserve a better, more productive nation, one in which good governance is visible, firmly established, effectively practised and embraced as part of our national culture. I, Peter Obi, with my very dear elder brother, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, implore and beckon all of you, committed members of our great party, the NDC, and all Nigerians, to join us in this crusade of rebuilding our dear and most endowed nation, Nigeria. Today, we begin a renewed journey towards a New Nigeria, united by shared purpose, founded on fairness, justice and equity, and committed to productivity, inclusion and development. We envision a nation where government prioritises the security and welfare of its people, good governance prevails, and public officials remain accountable. It will be a law-abiding society of healthy, skilled and educated citizens, where every child attends school and learns to read and write. No Nigerian should live in a displaced-persons camp, and corruption must no longer weaken our institutions or the fabric of our nation. A New Nigeria is our vision. A New Nigeria is our mission. Corruption today has become more pervasive under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s APC-led government. No state institution has been spared, and since 2023, its effects have spread throughout national life.

A NEW RESPONSIBILITY, A NEW NIGERIA I want to thank all of you, my very dear friends and family, for your warm support and congratulatory messages on my appointment as the Director, New Media, NDC National Campaign Council, and my subsequent inauguration yesterday. For me, this appointment is a call to greater responsibility to the long-suffering Nigerians who are, this time, committed to changing our nation. It is also a call to intensify the ongoing battle against misinformation, disinformation and fake news being peddled by the lackeys of the colourless Tinubu-led administration against HE, Mr Peter Obi, and the Obi-Kwankwaso (OK) ticket. I sincerely thank my friends across party lines who sent tons of messages, made numerous calls, and shared literally thousands of social media posts and messages across my various channels. Let me assure you that my inability to respond to everyone individually is simply because it is practically impossible to do so, given the sheer volume of messages. Please be assured that I hold you all in the highest esteem and deeply appreciate your kindness, encouragement and support. I dedicate this appointment to the pursuit of our collective aspiration: the election of His Excellency, Mr Peter Gregory Obi, CON, as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. I also use this opportunity to invite my dear friends across party lines to join me on this journey as we work vigorously towards building the Nigeria we all desire, a New Nigeria that is POssible. With Obi and Kwankwaso, NIGERIA WILL BE OK! Thank you all, and God bless you. Idris Zekeri Junior 27 October 2026 Lokoja, Nigeria

To those asking what happened and why I have now declared my hope in Peter Obi, let me explain… I casually said to my father that Peter Obi, Tinubu and every other politician were all the same. I honestly believed there was no real difference between them. My father spent almost an hour explaining the political situation under Tinubu and what governance was like in Anambra State under Peter Obi. That conversation opened my eyes to something I had failed to understand. I realised that while no politician is perfect, not all leaders are the same. There is a difference in their priorities, their approach to leadership and the importance they place on the lives of ordinary people. Sometimes, like me, many make the mistake of saying “they are all the same” because we have been disappointed too many times. But after the talk with my father, I began to understand that the differences can be much deeper than we think. For me, Peter Obi represents a different kind of hope. I am not saying he is perfect or that he has all the answers. I am saying that, based on what I have come to understand, I see a meaningful difference between his record in Anambra and what Nigerians are experiencing under Tinubu. And that difference matters!!! When people are struggling to eat, when families can barely survive and when ordinary Nigerians are losing hope, leadership is no longer just about politics, it is about humanity and about whether the people in power truly understand the suffering of the people they lead. That is why I no longer believe that all politicians are the same!!! And I hope that you do too!!! I would rather support a leader I believe offers a better path than be extreme and believe that every option is equally bad!!! Peter Obi may not be perfect, but in the eyes of any objective person, he represents a far lesser evil than Tinubu. And sometimes, in a country that has suffered so much, recognising the difference between two choices is the beginning of hope!!! That is what changed my mind and that is why I have chosen to believe again. A better Nigeria is POssible!!!!
I never see person wey hate Tinubu reach my papa! 💔😭

On 17th October 2026, Joy and Ada were involved in a ghastly motorcycle accident at Ago Iwoye, Ogun State after a reckless driver named IDRIS OLAITAN hit them from behind. Since that terrible day, both of them have been battling severe injuries, unimaginable pain, and a difficult journey toward recovery. Joy and Ada are both students of Olabisi Onabanjo University and it happened around the school area. Joy is still currently in the hospital receiving treatment and her family has already raised almost 3 million naira , which was used for her initial emergency treatment and the first surgery she had to undergo after the accident. Unfortunately, because of the severity of the accident and the sensitive areas of her body that were affected, Joy’s treatment does not end with the first surgery and has been informed that she needs two additional surgeries to properly correct and treat injuries to her hip and ankle and and she will also require plastic surgery,post-surgery care, medication, hospital bills, and other necessary medical attention throughout her recovery. The additional surgeries and post-surgery care are expected to cost approximately ₦4 million more. Her family already raised and spent almost 3 million for her initial treatment, we are once again asking for your help because she still has a long and expensive road to recovery ahead of her. Ada’s case became extremely critical following the accident. Due to the severity of her injuries, she had to be transferred to another hospital for urgent treatment after she was rejected at the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Igbobi. She is in urgent need of surgery, and the estimated cost of her treatment is approximately 6 million Her family is doing everything possible, but this amount is far beyond what they can comfortably afford, which is why we are reaching out to everyone who can help. The families have already done everything they can, but they cannot carry this financial burden alone. Ada needs approximately ₦6 million for her urgent surgery and treatment. Joy needs approximately ₦4 million for her additional surgeries and post-surgery care. No amount is too small. Whether you can donate ₦1,000, ₦5,000, ₦10,000, ₦50,000, or more, your contribution can make a real difference in their lives. please share this post with your friends, family, colleagues, churches, communities, and anyone who may be able to help. They have already endured so much pain. Please, let’s not allow lack of funds to stand between Joy and Ada and the medical treatment they desperately need. Kindly support Joy and Ada. Pan-Africanist: Africa is poor because Europeans spent centuries exploiting our resources. Normal African: Colonialism was exploitative. But who controls those resources today? Pan-Africanist: African governments, technically. But Western corporations still benefit. Normal African: Who signs the contracts with those corporations? Pan-Africanist: Our corrupt leaders. Normal African: And who receives the money? Pan-Africanist: Our corrupt leaders. Normal African: So why is your revolution always directed at London and Paris instead of the presidential palace down the road? Pan-Africanist: Because you don't understand how neocolonialism works. Normal African: Apparently, it works by making African presidents steal money and buy mansions in the countries they claim are oppressing us. Pan-Africanist: You're oversimplifying centuries of systemic exploitation. Normal African: Fair enough. Let's talk about solutions. How do we become economically independent? Pan-Africanist: We must reject Western dependency and build African institutions. Normal African: Excellent. Where should we start? Pan-Africanist: Education, technology, infrastructure, manufacturing. Normal African: Agreed. Why haven't we done that? Pan-Africanist: Because Western powers deliberately keep Africa underdeveloped. Normal African: So the West is powerful enough to prevent 54 African countries from developing, but somehow powerless to stop China, South Korea, Singapore and other former poor countries from industrializing? Pan-Africanist: Their historical circumstances were different. Normal African: Exactly. So perhaps we should study what they did differently instead of treating history as a permanent excuse. Pan-Africanist: You sound like someone who worships white people. Normal African: I thought we were discussing economics. Pan-Africanist: Economics cannot be separated from colonial history. Normal African: Neither can it be separated from present-day leadership, corruption, productivity, education and institutions. Pan-Africanist: Africa needs leaders like Thomas Sankara. Normal African: Sankara received formal education and military training through institutions established under French colonial rule. Should we acknowledge that too? Pan-Africanist: That's colonial mentality. He used their knowledge against them. Normal African: Wonderful. So we agree that knowledge is useful regardless of who introduced it? Pan-Africanist: You're missing the point. Normal African: I'm beginning to suspect the point is that everything good is African resistance and everything bad is European influence. Pan-Africanist: We must decolonize the African mind! Normal African: Can we first fix the public hospital? Pan-Africanist: You cannot fix institutions without first liberating the African mind. Normal African: The hospital has had no medicine for three weeks. Pan-Africanist: That's the legacy of colonialism. Normal African: The health minister just bought himself a new Range Rover. Pan-Africanist: You really need to read more African history. Normal African: And you need to read the Auditor-General's report.
