This would make me ineligible if I were to apply today.... Difficult to be motivated this morning as I head to work today.
This would preclude many very talented academics. I first started at Β£28k and many post-doctoral positions are still no more than Β£31k. This could encourage universities to raise the academic salaries in response to this, but it is unlikely to happen. What is likely to happen is that universities are going to become even less diverse in thought and practice & miss out on excellent researchers. It is such short-sightedness.
Brilliant thread on why wood burning is not only bad for the household but also has a hefty social cost. πͺ΅π₯βΉοΈ
π₯ Burning wood is the more expensive way of heating a home π₯
Not only is burning wood almost always more expensive than central heating, but it also has huge hidden costs for everyone in society. We all pay the bill!

Can you help us raise awareness of the #AirPollution impacts of #WoodBurning? The government has consistently refused to run a #PublicHealth campaign on this. Order them on our website, then join in across the country to put them up. #AirPollution

~20% homes will run on heat networks, where heat is supplied by industrial sized heat pumps & clean energy sources. It's an emerging market so good to see @KensaHeatPumps working w/ @HeatTrustUK to fit a ground source heat network that meet their standards
