I need to include 2 works for November! Both are important to the 2023 ‘time capsule’.
I’m a New Yorker at heart and a fan of John F. Simon Jr. so I wasn’t going to miss his ‘ode to NYC’ - COMPLEXCITY, a generative collection of 512 works celebrating the exhilarating dynamism of urban life — reminiscent of Mondrian’s Broadway Boogie Woogie. @artw_rld @every_icon
November also brought us ZENTRUM - a historical collection based on work created by Herbert W. Franke in 1982 (running on the Apple II!). For this release, @aaronpenne transcribed the code for today’s technology, with a random generator ensuring each loop is unique. @ExpandedArt @HerbertWFranke @proof_xyz
These are not videos, they’re software that’s constantly changing — « real-time animations that create endless combinations in continuous motion.»
