The regulation of Prediction Markets by the Commodities Futures Trading Commission is opposed by 44 states' attorney generals.
Why?
The answer may may be found in how much state governments have in common with offshore & street bookies, detailed in our latest whiteboard video.
LSU women’s 131-22 win wasn’t the only catastrophic mismatch in the Bayou State last night.
Only 61 possessions suggests good sportsmanship by Louisiana Tech’s men, whose 59-point margin would have been more had they not shot a middling 30% from the arc.

OK, wrote about the models vs. prediction markets debate. Actually, the real stolen valor is from NYT/Siena. But prediction markets converged toward FLIPR/model prices, not the other way around, and the models got to the right answer sooner and more confidently.
Among the reasons I have such contempt for the former PAC 12 ADs hanging Wazzou and Oregon State out to dry is that I have a couple pals on their rosters in the PAC 10 days.
They had never met until
tonight and both happened to be wearing their colors.
Fun night. They had a lot to talk about.
I hope Troy Aikman is not on Twitter. He will not like this one bit. Given his Joe Buck dust up this may really trigger him.
First half 4th and 1 decisions in the red zone are no longer a debate in the NFL.
From 2024-2026, teams facing a 4th and 1 in the red zone in the first 28 minutes have gone for it 97% of the time (126/130). There are 31.5 go for it attempts for every field goal.
From 2014-2016, there was 2.8 go for it attempts for every field goal in this situation.
Current 4th and 1 decisions in FG range outside the red zone (21 to 40 yard line) are also becoming near automatic. 92.1% go rate.
Georgia Tech hoops was never as good as when Bobby Cremins was the coach. The reverse is true for this guy and Tech football.

New at @FTNFantasy by @BryKno: Is there any historical precedent for teams avoiding the pass like the Buccaneers? Can that tell us anything about their future?

Thank you Terry. Very interesting. Let me try to summarize: "It's like every middle-manager led Zoom call you have ever been on."
There. I think we get it.
Thoughts on Viewer Access to Replay Reviews
<Warning: It's very long>
From the beginning, I was skeptical of how this could be successfully implemented. In theory, it’s a great way to provide insights into Replay/Command Centers evaluations of often critical and game-impacting situations.
My skepticism was always its application in the real world. I think that skepticism has proven itself as we’ve seen in numerous games in multiple conferences.
Here’s what I think is happening:
Last 2 games Passes/Runs
Tampa Bay Bucs 14/105
Air Force 18/137
Navy 21/113
Air Force 23/102
Keep this up and Baker Mayfield may be required to serve a 6-year military stint.

Philip Rivers should agree to become NC State’s head coach and Ravens QB on the same day
Hiding behind “responsible gaming” charade while limiting a winning player.
Ridiculous. At least be honest about it.
“We haven’t invested in the talent required to book smart bettors” would work just fine.
Who needs a passing game? Not Air Force or the Tampa Bay Bucs.
The Bucs and Flyboys both won games this weekend without completing a pass. All three attempts by each were incomplete.
The magic of 0 for 3.
Other than Herbstreit’s unwelcome intrusion at the end (just need a couple days off from the Dr. Drew of college football) this is outstanding.
Look for what the Lions did yesterday and what Chip Kelly did with his triple stack I to the right of the QB vs Oregon Saturday (I have no idea if that terminology is correct but if you saw it you know what I’m talking about) to be widely copied starting this week.
