Great article in which @antihateca
paints a very clear picture about the organized push by far-right candidates in school board trustee elections, why it matters, and what you can do about it. (VOTE ON MONDAY!)

Thinking of all the trans kids in Oakville, especially those that go to Oakville Trafalgar High School. The current protests, the shaming jokes, and the right-wing media circus will take a horrible toll on their mental health, health and safety (both emotional & physical).

Our students deserve the best possible school experience. Our staff deserve our support. My priorities of faith, diversity, and education will help HCDSB achieve success.
On Oct24, vote Trish Nicholls-Powell for #HCDSB Trustee.

📢 Burlington! 📢
We are excited to share the three candidates running for @HCDSB Trustee in Oct2022. We believe these candidates are best positioned to make school-focused decisions, listen to stakeholders, and put the well-being of staff & students first.

I would also like to especially thank @TrusteeAgnew and @GNancyl , who have been here since it all began last April. Thank you for supporting queer HCDSB students, staff, alumni, and the general LGBTQ+ community. Couldn’t have been able to do this without you both <3

@HCDSB passes motion to fly the Pride flag every June at their CEC and all schools! Congrats @GNancyl @TrusteeAgnew 🏳️🌈

DO NOT USE MARTIN LUTHER KING TO DEFEND YOUR BIGOTRY.
UGH...this is why Black people talk about the whitewashing of his activism. He was murdered for being a Black Christian RADICAL.

There was no better decision at our school board last year than the decision to #FlyTheFlag! Hope HCDSB follows suit tonight. Thanks to those Trustees who are standing up for equity tonight! #topoli #onpoli #onted

Tomorrow @HCDSB will vote on whether or not to #FlyTheFlag and support 2SLGBTQ+ students. We join students, educators, parents and the community in calling for the Board to do the right thing.
RT if you agree every student deserves safety and inclusion in our public schools! 🏳️🌈

We are disappointed to see more hate-filled calls to action from these outside groups on the eve of the @hcdsb board meeting tomorrow. Below is a particularly vile example, courtesy of the CLC.

Today is the last day to sign our open letter in support of @HCDSB raising the 🏳️🌈. After yesterday's display of homophobia by @TrusteeTim, please show your support to the 2SLGBTQ+ community and for @TrusteeAgnew's motion. Love is love. Thank you. ❤️forms.gle/9R4yws96q6qGZU6J6

Hey @MavenOfMayhem , last year @HCDSB decided not to Fly the Flag and instead gave air to harmful homophobic dialogue. Can you help us spread the word and show support for ALL staff and students?
On Jan18, @HCDSB Trustees will vote on flying the #Pride flag at schools. Sign this letter. Tell the trustees to correct last year's mistake and to vote in favour of @TrusteeAgnew's motion. Share it. Help send a message that can't be ignored. Choose love.

The latest Board Meeting at HCDSB was a mess of arguments and disinformation, fueled by the same four obstructive trustees. Even the few beneficial motions which passed were fraught with debate. 80% of the 4hr meeting was a waste of board resources. #VoteOutTheDinosaurs 🦖 #OntEd
