During National Community Health Center Week, I visited @FHCN's food pantry to see firsthand how community health centers (CHCs) go beyond just providing medical care to their patients.
Their pantry, operated in partnership with Kings Community Action Organization, helps connect families with healthy food options and the resources needed to prepare nutritious meals.
CHCs play a critical role in serving rural communities, and I look forward to continuing to partner with them to ensure they have the resources needed to provide high-quality care for Central Valley families.

Behind every successful community health center, there is a Changemaker.
As we honor these 2026 Changemakers for their outstanding work on behalf of health centers, patients, and communities everywhere, we know they can’t do it alone.
You can help local, state, and federal policymakers understand the impact that America’s health centers make in their patients' lives every day.

What does it mean to be a Visionary Changemaker?
It means turning a health center network into a comprehensive healthcare system, serving the community through more than 1.2 million patient visits each year. It means pioneering dignified food pantries and literacy programs. And it means advocating in Sacramento and Washington, D.C., to ensure no patient is left behind.
Today, as part of NHCW, we are proud to recognize Kerry Hydash, President & CEO, @FHCN, as our Visionary Changemaker.
