Manchester United is bigger than football... The brand is MASSIVE People have been speaking about this for years When companies grow bigger than forces that should keep them in check, it's good for them but bad for everyone else This should be profoundly worrying for fans
Avram Glazer has told an audience of financiers that sports teams at Manchester United’s level are not dependent on success on the pitch for commercial power. United’s co-owner was making a rare speaking appearance at Deutsche Bank’s inaugural Sports Investment Conference in London. Sources with knowledge of the event — talking anonymously to protect relationships — said he argued his club’s value is incubated from the effects of sporting variance in the same way that the New York Yankees and Dallas Cowboys still stand out as major global brands. Glazer was asked by an audience member about the correlation between results on the pitch and a club’s commercial pull. His response bears similarity to the feedback Ed Woodward, United’s former executive vice-chairman, gave during an investor call in May 2018. Woodward was asked by a shareholder if the improved performance in the Premier League, when Mourinho raised the side from sixth to runners-up, had been a factor in another set of record financial accounts, with United making £590million in annual revenue. Woodward replied: “Playing performance doesn’t really have a meaningful impact on what we can do on the commercial side of the business.” More from @lauriewhitwell 🔗 nyti.ms/4yUIGjj

These comments are designed to placate investors worried about Uniteds present footballing condition "Don't worry you'll get you ROI whether we perform or not..." He could've said they plan to get United back performing well but no He said the TRUTH.. teapawt.net/lauriewhitwell/status/…
Exclusive: Avram Glazer tells financiers commercial power of clubs like #MUFC not affected by sporting success. Compares to New York Yankees + Dallas Cowboys. United co-owner appeared at Deutsche Bank sports investment conference in September ⬇️ nytimes.com/athletic/7753722…

This is where fans need to come in Theyre the only stakeholders of the club that wont benefit from commercial success Fans want to see the club do well at football not a P&L statement Fans need to be the ones to create the pressure and demand success teapawt.net/SullyTalkz/status/2118…
Now's the time more than ever for us to be United. Manchester United V Aston Villa Sun 8 Nov - If you're attending the game, walk out 21st minute. Fans online can unsubscribe to MUTV and boycott all United products. We can keep saying this won't work, or we can try for change.

Looked at my club and sighed Consistency Strategic Visioning We keep taking staff from clubs without understanding the processes behind the success in the first place... Villa have progressed well past couple years With our resources only thing holding us back is vision
Aston Villa held an important working meeting today to plan the club's future and lay the foundations for its long-term sporting and institutional project. The meeting brought together Nassef Sawiris, the club's Chairman and Unai Emery alongside President of Football Operations Roberto Olabe and Director of Football Operations Damián Vidagany. The discussions focused on jointly planning the club's long-term strategic direction, with positive discussions establishing a clear commitment beyond 2029 for the joint development of the club under the sporting leadership of Unai Emery based on the shared ambitions and common goal to reach excellency and keep growing during the next years. The objective is clear: to build an ambitious, competitive Aston Villa capable of taking on the biggest challenges and achievements.

Exactly The players HAVE quality But the consistency is needed Can't afford to drop pace against Villa Roma was a game of two halves Need to see that intent continuously Not only when we're 2-0 down...
🚨 Bruno Fernandes: “We have quality! It’s not possible what we saw last season has disappeared… we need confidence and I hope this win will help us”, told Sky.

This comes back to what I keep saying 3% less in the 2nd half Less poss. but more meaningful, more purposeful poss. When we play faster, with closer combinations we play better Need to see that 2nd half performance more This is a fraction of what the players are capable of
Replying to @FOBSVR
2nd half was far more urgent, more simple We got closer together worked the combinations and passed forward 62 LESS passes from us in the 2nd half Thats insane More insane is Roma couldn't cope 0.00xG for the entire half Shouldn't take us being 2-0 down to play like this...

MUN v ROM Como game was so bad didn't even bother to give a breakdown🤣 The performance against Chelsea for 45 minutes was mildly acceptable Getting that for the full 90 should be the goal Kobbie being back big for Carrick Kobbie x Baleba would be our most balanced midfield
COM V MUN Fabregas has achieved a possession based style with a team he's moulded to achieve it And Carrick just looking to achieve stability Would prefer to see optas lineup Como should have more of the ball We'll have to remain compact and take out chances when they come

Idk I feel like I interpreted this completely opposite He over engineered tactics first half imo Tried too hard to beat Gasperini tactically Bait the m2m then exploit the spaces they left Kept knocking the ball around looking for the spaces teapawt.net/Vararse_/status/211772…
This is how you know Carricks fully tapped out. In pre season there was at least an idea of build up, last season we adapted game by game & counteracted the oppositions weaknesses, this season? Nothing at all.
