Urgent | Threat to MV New Born – Immediate Intervention Sought MV New Born (22 seafarers, including 19 Indians) has received a direct radio warning from the Iranian Navy ordering the vessel to leave the area immediately and proceed to Dubai anchorage, with clear threats of targeting if disobeyed. The vessel has been operating under severe pressure at Mina Saqr, is currently in Kuwait, and is again sailing near the Strait of Hormuz. Despite repeated requests from the crew for sign-off and repatriation, the owner and manager have given no response. The seafarers remain onboard against all safety advisories, IMO guidelines, and their right to refuse high-risk work. These seafarers have been effectively abandoned in a high-risk zone. Their lives are in immediate danger. We urgently call on the Government of India (MEA, Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways, DG Shipping), the IMO, flag State, UAE and Kuwait authorities, and the shipowner/manager to intervene immediately, facilitate safe sign-off and repatriation those who have requested for their repatriation and protect the lives of these seafarers. Safety of seafarers must come first. #SeafarersRights #Hormuz #FSUI #RepatriationNow #SafeSeas @IMOHQ @shipmin_india @MEAIndia @DrSJaishankar @Indemb_Muscat @indembkwt @DGMA_India @ITFglobalunion

It has been reported that seafarers are not receiving responses and are being recruited by the same agency that recruited crew for the MV Golden Leo, which was attacked in the Black Sea, leaving four Indian seafarers affected. @DGMA_India @shipmin_india @MEAIndia @DrSJaishankar @indembkwt @Indemb_Muscat @cgidubai @IMOHQ @ITFglobalunion @fsuiindia @FsuiManoj

FSUI letter to IMO Secretary-General:The primary responsibility for the protection of seafarers lies with the shipowners first.Flag States (especially FOCs) must enforce strict rules, but real protection comes only when owners are made financially accountable through:• Compulsory IG-approved P&I insurance • Additional financial guarantee covering minimum 3 months’ wages + repatriation + medical/casualty compensationFlag States must force owners to take financial responsibility first.FSUI continues to fight for the dignity, wages and welfare of every seafarer.#SeafarersRights #IMO #Maritime #FSUI

OUR PORTS. OUR LIVELIHOODS. OUR VOICE. PORTS ARE NOT FOR WAR! On October 30, 2026, port workers, dock workers, seafarers and maritime trade unions stand together in a powerful call for peace, dignity and solidarity. The Forward Seamen’s Union of India (FSUI), in solidarity with the Water Transport Workers Federation of India (WTWFI) and the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU), supports the global campaign demanding that ports serve humanity, not war. Our ports connect nations, sustain livelihoods and keep global trade moving. They must remain places of peace, cooperation and opportunity, not conduits for arms and weapons destined to fuel conflict. We call upon every port worker, dock worker and seafarer to make their voice count. Print the campaign poster. Take a photograph holding it. Share it on your social media and encourage your colleagues to do the same. Let the world see that India's maritime workforce stands for peace, solidarity and jobs with dignity. ONE MARITIME COMMUNITY. ONE UNITED VOICE. PORTS FOR PEACE. JOBS WITH DIGNITY. #FSUI #PortsAreNotForWar #PortsForPeace #JobsWithDignity #Seafarers #PortWorkers #DockWorkers #TradeUnionSolidarity @dgshipping_IN @shipmin_india @imohq @ITFAPAC

A STRONGER VOICE FOR SEAFARERS. A RESPONSE FROM THE IMO. The International Maritime Organization (IMO) has formally acknowledged representations made by the Forward Seamen's Union of India (FSUI) on critical issues affecting seafarers and their families. In a communication dated 23 October 2026, the IMO Secretary-General acknowledged FSUI's concerns regarding the repatriation of deceased seafarers, related medical assistance, and fraudulent ship registrations. The IMO has reaffirmed its commitment to seafarer safety, protection and welfare, highlighted the humanitarian consequences of delays in repatriating mortal remains, and drawn attention to its work on ship-registration guidelines intended to strengthen due diligence and combat fraudulent registrations. For FSUI, this recognition reinforces the importance of raising difficult industry issues through constructive engagement with international maritime institutions. The work continues. Our commitment remains clear: protecting seafarers, supporting their families, and advancing meaningful solutions to the challenges facing our maritime community. #MTPetroDolohinAttack Twelve days have passed, but there is still no SAR report or Coast Guard report, and the family has received no updates. How long must they keep waiting for news of their loved ones? Where are the automation techniques that could help deliver information quickly? We urge all relevant authorities to confirm whether the search operation has stopped and, if so, when. Please provide the SAR report and the crew’s official statements, including whether they received any communication or threats before the vessel was attacked.
#Still_Praying_Stil_Waiting. The pain is unimaginable. MT Petro Dolphin hit by a drone on 11 Oct at Sohar Anchorage. Two Indian seafarers still missing — Amit Singh & Bir Bahadur Yadav. Amit’s family has not moved from prayer, waiting for news that he is safe. If you can hear and feel their fear, stand with them. They are still waiting. #Seafarers #MTPetroDolphin #FSUI @dgshipping_IN @shipmin_india @MEAIndia @Indemb_Muscat @UN @IMOHQ @ITFglobalunion
