If the first point of contact in response to my email/text is from a parent, it makes me wonder why their son/daughter cannot speak for themselves. What will happen when that individual gets to a program and has an issue/concern? Will the coach hear from them or their parent?

Still seeing parents answer their sonβs/daughterβs recruit emails. I understand the need for parents to be in the loop. I always want to speak w/ parents during the recruitment process. However, I also want to know that the recruit is independent enough to speak for themselves.
