Fav quote about my writing, "That was some awesome history, although he started drifting a little when he got to the sentient coffee makers"
I've been using mastodon exclusively for quite some time and won't be checking back here going forward.
See you there, mastodon.sdf.org/@famicoman

Rediffusion Wired Vision handhole shared with me from Tunbridge Wells, UK. Long out of use, I was told this twisted-pair CATV system had subscribers install a switch in their house to change the pair they wanted to use for different channels. rediffusion.info/Wired_Visio…
If you haven't heard yet I'm doing this free payphone thing: @philtelco

Please back my kickstarter for a giant plugboard that configures your kubernetes cluster networking
Is there a youtube channel yet where someone just systematically works through electronics books by Forrest Mims III and does all the exercises one-by-one? I feel like that would be fun to watch.

This is the book you need in order to become a phone company, right? Basic Carrier Telephony 3rd edition from 1977.

Apparently this video was released by @2600 way back 30 years ago. I'll buy a VHS tape if you still have one :P
Here's a crazy one, the "Dutch Hacker Video" (1991) shows a hack on a United States military computer performed by an anonymous Dutch hacker using an FTP privilege escalation exploit and getting root. Mirrored on IA here, archive.org/details/dutch-ha…. youtube.com/watch?v=VAGLJtC5…

There used to be a slightly higher-quality encode of this floating around a few years ago and I lost my backup. Please let me know if you have this file or something better: "hacker_video.avi" 344.5MB
Made this garbage red box in about 25 minutes. Works okay when the power switch is in just the right position.
Uploaded Vol 2, No 6 of Private Line, a telecom/phreaking/hacking zine from 1995, to IA, archive.org/details/privatel… Looking for years, I've only found this digitized issue. Do you have any issues of Private Line? Let me know and we'll get them online!
I believe @lifewinning found a different issue in the Prelinger Library years ago if anyone in SF can weasel their way in there with a flatbed scanner. I think it was a different issue anyway, the dropbox link here is long dead, theatlantic.com/technology/a…
