This account by @DanNeidle of Russell Brand's use of an injunction to silence (and bankrupt) a woman who accused him of assaulting her is shocking.
She wasn't even allowed to talk about it to the police or to medics other than named individuals.

This paragraph by Richard Feynman hits so hard:
“Fall in love with some activity, and do it! Nobody ever figures out what life is all about, and it doesn’t matter. Explore the world. Nearly everything is really interesting if you go into it deeply enough. Work as hard and as much as you want to on the things you like to do the best. Don’t think about what you want to be, but what you want to do. Keep up some kind of a minimum with other things so that society doesn’t stop you from doing anything at all.”

"#SizewellC stitch-up is looking increasingly radioactive. MPs’ report on the £40bn #nuclear power plant points out obvious flaws that leave taxpayers on the hook and give investors a golden rod.
“Sizewell C represents a terrible deal for the UK taxpayer.” Private companies were hardly queuing up to invest in Sizewell C. As the PAC points out, no nuke “anywhere in the world” with the similar “European pressurised reactor” design “has come out on budget”. France’s Flamanville 3 and Finland’s Olkiluoto 3? Fourteen years late and costing at least “300 per cent” more than forecast. As the PAC puts it: “Consumers and taxpayers shoulder significant financial risks, while private investors enjoy protected profits.”

📣 OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
I FORMALLY ANNOUNCE MY CANDIDACY FOR THE FIFA PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION — 18 MARCH 2027
RABAT, MOROCCO
FOOTBALL BELONGS TO THE PEOPLE — NOT TO THOSE WHO CONTROL IT.
Football stands at a defining crossroads. The decisions we make today will shape the future of our beautiful game for generations to come.
WE DECLARE ZERO TOLERANCE for leadership that has humiliated the passion of five billion football fans around the world and insulted the dignity, dedication and integrity of the millions of people who devote their lives to our beautiful game.
Football belongs to its people. Their passion deserves respect, their voices deserve to be heard, and their contributions deserve recognition — never humiliation, intimidation or contempt.
After more than a decade of preparation, I formally announce my candidacy for the Presidency of FIFA in 2027.
Alongside me stands my Hungarian wife and First Lady, Claudia — a pioneer with over 25 years of experience in professional men s football. Together, we share an unwavering commitment to restoring trust, reforming governance and reuniting the global football family.
I bring the mentality of a player, the discipline of a defender and decades of experience from the pitch to the boardroom.
I defended my team on the field. Now I am ready to defend football itself — its integrity, its people and its future.
My candidacy is not driven by personal ambition, power or privilege. It is driven by responsibility, conviction and a profound love for the game that has given me everything.
I AM NOT STANDING TO CONTINUE THE WAR. I AM STANDING TO END IT.
No individual is greater than football. No institution should ever place itself above the game.
This is not merely an announcement of candidacy. It is a call for fundamental change, a commitment to reconciliation and a vision for a new era of world football.
I invite every member association, player, coach, referee and supporter across the world to read my full official presidential announcement attached below. 👇
Read it. Reflect on it. Challenge its ideas. Above all, join the conversation about the future of the game we all love.
Ramon Vega
Candidate for the Presidency of FIFA 2027

A short video using Elbow Grease kitchen cleaner to clean off tags. We went for a walk in our local park, but I'd been alerted to lots of small tags. So I took a small rucksack of cleaning kit and my hi viz warm jacket to avoid questions lol. Not too bad in the cold here.

The number of men who tell me I'm unqualified to have an opinion on whether there might be downsides to cutting healthy breasts off teenaged girls with mental health issues, yet are 100% certain they're qualified to tell women what a woman is, continues to astound.

‘Weak leadership combined with ideological capture, perceived prestige for the organisation, and fear had all led to children being harmed.’
Gender ideology has spread like wildfire through the NHS. The casualties: kids and whistleblowers.

This one's spectacular. In the 1960s, London's Mews were still being used to keep horses. This clip spoils us with a lovely glimpse of the people, pubs, and lifestyle among the cobbled backstreets that have since become expensive housing. They certainly had more personality then than nowadays. @Britains___Pubs

This is a woefully bad Bill, dressed up as something good, and pushed by MPs who have no clue.
Thankfully, vile gay conversion has been illegal for many years.
But attempts to define 'being yourself' to a child who is gender confused?! Experts in the complex psychology of this like @marcuse99903226 and @JamesEsses, legal experts like @akuareindorf and @Jebadoo2 explain over and over why this Bill will cause harm and homophobia. As @AllianceLGB warn, it's about 'transing away the gay' 💔
“A society which values freedom must protect everyone’s right to live openly and safely as themselves.”
My piece for @IndyVoices on delivering our manifesto commitment to ban conversion practices 👉🏻

These children are being placed by adults on a pathway to infertility, impaired & possibly destroyed sexual function, reduced bone density, and unproven but suspected harmful effects on brain development.
They cannot possible at their age provide informed consent.
This chapter will go down in infamy and it is important that those responsible for this abuse are recorded and -when our country regains some sanity - held to account. Many of them belong in jail.
🚨226 children, some as young as 11 years old, are about to be given £500 worth of shopping vouchers by the UK Government in order to undertake a puberty blockers trial, placing them on a pathway to infertility.
This is the medical scandal of our time.

Heartbreaking that MPs have allowed this to go ahead. Too many chose to look the other way. It is indeed the medical scandal of our time.

SHAME ON PAULA VENNELLS
Paula Vennells cried at the inquiry. Read her emails before you feel sorry for her.
Paula Vennells ran the @PostOffice from 2012 to 2019. Its computer system, Horizon, showed money missing from branches when none was missing. More than 900 postmasters were prosecuted between 1999 and 2015. Some went to prison. Families lost homes, savings and reputations. The inquiry @PostOffInquiry says at least 13 people are thought to have taken their own lives because of the scandal.
Now look at what was happening at the top.
In July 2013 Paula Vennells asked her husband for a less emotional word than bugs. He suggested exception or anomaly. The inquiry's lawyer called it Orwellian.
In August 2013 she wrote that the hope of the mediation scheme for postmasters was to avoid or minimise compensation. At the inquiry she agreed it was possibly her hope.
After a row with her top lawyer, Susan Crichton, Paula Vennells wrote that Susan Crichton was possibly more loyal to her professional rules and put her integrity as a lawyer above the interests of the business. A lawyer with integrity. Terrible for business.
In September 2013 Paula Vennells asked for a Horizon risk reference to be removed from the Royal Mail @RoyalMail share sale prospectus, then told the Post Office chair she had earned her keep.
Around the same time postmaster Martin Griffiths attempted suicide. Paula Vennells emailed that such cases usually have several contributory factors. Martin Griffiths died 3 weeks later.
Former general counsel Chris Aujard told the inquiry that in November 2013 the executive team favoured ending prosecutions and Paula Vennells interjected that the Post Office should keep taking some. His notes recorded reluctance to stop because prosecutions acted as a deterrent. Prosecutions carried on for another 2 years.
In December 2014 a @BBC One Show film showed postmasters fighting to clear their names. Paula Vennells wrote that Jo Hamilton lacked passion and that the rest of the film was hype and human interest. She told colleagues she was more bored than outraged.
Jo Hamilton had been accused of stealing £36K. Her conviction was quashed in 2021.
In February 2015 Paula Vennells told MPs the Post Office had won every Horizon case in court. In 2024 she admitted that was false and said it was unintentional.
In March 2015 she wrote to Post Office minister Jo Swinson that there was no reason to conclude any prosecution was unsafe. Jo Swinson later said the letter misled her.
@guardian reported she collected more than £4.5M in pay and bonuses as chief executive. She was given a CBE for services to the Post Office and charity while 555 postmasters were suing the Post Office.
She left the Post Office during that court case. From April 2019 she chaired Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust (@imperialNHS) for £60K a year.
A document shown to the inquiry says the government shareholder asked in 2014 whether she was still the right person to lead, citing lack of knowledge.
Lesley Sewell, her former head of IT, told the inquiry that Paula Vennells contacted her 4 times in 2020 and 2021, hoping preparation might help avoid an independent inquiry.
Lesley Sewell blocked her number.
In January 2024 Dame Moya Greene, former Royal Mail chief executive, told Paula Vennells she thought she knew and could no longer support her. Paula Vennells denied it.
Then came May 2024.
3 days at the public inquiry.
775 page witness statement.
7 months to prepare it.
Tears.
Apologies.
She said she had been too trusting. She said information had been kept from her. She named 5 former executives as having let her down. She apologised to Jo Hamilton for being rude in her email.
The inquiry lawyer asked if she was the unluckiest CEO in the UK.
Unlucky.. is one word for it.
There is another way to look at the record.
A CEO who wrote that mediation was meant to avoid or minimise compensation.
A CEO who told MPs something she later admitted was false.
A CEO who wrote to a minister that she saw no reason to conclude any prosecution was unsafe.
A CEO who collected a reported £4.5M while postmasters lost everything.
A CEO who later told the inquiry she had been too trusting.
More than 1.2M people signed a petition for her to lose the CBE. The King forfeited it on 23 February 2024.
As far as I can find, nobody at the top has been charged and nobody has reported her repaying a bonus. The final inquiry report is not out yet. Police are still investigating.
Jo Hamilton, the woman Paula Vennells wrote off as lacking passion, said afterwards she is in two minds on whether the apology was genuine or came from being so publicly ashamed.
The emails are public. Read them. Then decide who in this story deserves your sympathy.
Share this. Postmasters were ignored for years while the people above them were paid, decorated and given new jobs.

Only 50 generations separate us from the Anglo-Saxon invasions. Just 25 separate us from the Norman conquest.
Only 150 generations from the Beaker folk invasion 4500 years ago.
150 of your direct ancestors linking you back to the stone age could all fit in a village pub.
Not as remote as you may at first assume.
