I wrote a poem once that says “it says queer on my throat so they know where to slit it”. Which is to say, I know my entire rhetoric through my twenties (and now 30!) has been that which goes against the traditions of western society! And I chose to live actively in a way that put me on the front lines with trans people, sex workers and other minorities who all share the same struggle. This is to say- I have always known that my rhetoric has consequences! But they are worth it because I deeply beleive in a world that is safe for people to live differently! And in a world where everyone is housed and fed. It is a terrifying reality! Knowing there are consequences for simply opposing people who wish to strip liberty and life from people who are different! Our reality is terrifying. It is terrifying but I also have always known I am deeply privileged to be able to still move through the world with a relative degree of safety because I’m big and good looking and white. There are consequences for words and actions. I’ve never been a mouth piece for the dehuamnization of entire demographics (trans people), loud racism, Holocaust denying, genocide supporting fuckery! I’ve only ever said people deserve to be them selves and eat and sleep safely! BUT I STILL KNOW! That one day people (those who support the tradition of the elite, and of the white west) might kill me for it. For someone to believe they can actively say shit that leads an entire voting base towards racism, anti trans laws, and genocide supporting without consequences is a fool. To be a mouth piece for those things is bold! It actively ruins lives. For black people, trans people, and thousands of kids being blown into literally shreds in front of thier parents in Gaza. If you are going to speak on things that ruin lives you better understand people will stand up for their lives. My dad was shot dead! By cops! And I miss the guy and love him and talk with him everyday. I don’t like cops one bit! But I also don’t blame the cop who shot his ass when my dad literally pulled a gun on him. I don’t like the system in place that allows for the existence of these fuckers! But I also know if you’re gonna stand on some serious business and threaten peoples lives (even if you threaten their lives in clever ways behind a microphone espousing radical theological rhetoric that fuels violence) you are going to have to be willing to pay the consequences- right or wrong. I have no interest in speaking on the morality of killing in complex contexts- but rather! On things that are objective. Objectively- everyone in Gaza is being starved and blown into peices. There have been documented gang rapes and children shown decapitated in their parents arms while hospitals are being blown up. There are millions of homeless people in America and millions in our prison systems. There are black peoples still fighting for equal footing in this country. And there are people who are seeing all these things and going “HELL YA BROTHER” with huge audiences espousing radically racist and anti queer/trans rhetoric while quoting a book written by idiots 2000 years ago who immediately misinterpreted everything the person they based it on stood for- and then going “oh my god can you believe people responded violently to this??? It’s not like we actively support thier poverty, thier mass murder, and the ruining of thier lives as loudly as possible???” Get fucking real.

Stay skeptical! Question authority (the state, the churches, any institutions of authority)! Question your inner world and seek to expand upon in to find its authentic center! Within this all! Be kind! 🩵🩵🩵
